One nice thing about using HireScore is you don't have to follow every regulatory change in every jurisdiction. The HireScore team does that for you and builds compliance, fairness, and respect into the process without falling for every PC trend. If you treat your applicants how you would want to be treated you're often far past any compliance requirements. Lots of ambiguity today as New York, Illinois, Colorado, and Cali all move in different directions. reuters.com/legal/transact…

Microsoft's President just said the electrician shortage is the number one problem slowing America's AI expansion and nobody is talking about it. Electrical work makes up 45 to 70% of total data center construction costs. The industry needs 300,000 new electricians over the next decade just to keep up. Apprenticeship applications jumped 70% between 2022 and 2024 and supply still cannot meet demand. Everyone is out here chasing AI solutions while the physical infrastructure powering those solutions is running out of the people needed to build it. There are 73,000 electrical contracting businesses in America and nearly a third of their owners are approaching retirement with nobody lined up to take over. You do not necessarily need to learn the trade. But getting into it as a technician and then a business owner might honestly be the smartest career move you make in 2026. If you want to know how to get started, send me a DM.

“We’ve always hired this way.” That sentence has cost companies more great hires than they realize. That’s the Status Quo Bias. It’s when we prefer what’s familiar… even when it’s no longer the best option. Here’s how it shows up in hiring: 👉 Same outdated job titles 👉 Same resume-first process 👉 Same interview questions every time 👉 Same requirements that no longer fit the role It feels safe. It feels proven. But meanwhile: ❌ Great candidates get overlooked ❌ Hiring takes longer than it should ❌ Better methods never get tested ❌ Competitors adapt faster What helps: ✔ Re-evaluate old hiring habits ✔ Test new job titles and posting strategies ✔ Use data to improve decisions ✔ Focus on what works now, not what worked years ago Because doing what’s familiar isn’t always doing what’s best. And in hiring… Standing still often means falling behind.

@SybilUnresst @RevBlackNetwork Those are both options they have. Maybe they don't want a vehicle. Who does. It cost me $1000 a month to own a car and it's already paid for. That's just fuel and insurance.

The fixed pie assumption is logically wrong and will make you enjoy your life less. Help others be successful whenever possible. Grow the pie for all and the odds are it will help you in the end. Even if it doesn't help you directly, you will sleep better knowing you did the right thing.

Including pay in your job post can make a bigger difference than you might expect. It’s not just about compensation… It’s about clarity. When candidates see a pay range, they can quickly understand: 👉 If the role aligns with their expectations 👉 If it’s worth taking the next step 👉 How it compares to other opportunities Without it, there’s just a bit more uncertainty. And in a competitive market, even small friction can lead candidates to keep scrolling. This doesn’t mean every post has to be perfect. But adding context helps: ✔ A clear pay range when possible ✔ Or a general range / starting point ✔ Or details around growth and earning potential Because the easier it is for candidates to understand the opportunity… The more likely they are to engage with it.

@SamsoniteUSA just informed me that to get warranty work done I have to bring my bag to a store that is a five hour drive from my house. Shipping the bag is not allowed. From there, I'll get my bag back in 30 days. I think I'll just buy a non-Samsonite bag and call it a day.

What’s the hardest interview question for you? Is it: 1️⃣ “Tell me about yourself.” 2️⃣ “What’s your biggest weakness?” 3️⃣ “Why should we hire you?” 4️⃣ “Describe a time you failed.” 5️⃣ Salary expectations. 6️⃣ “Do you have any questions for us?” Everyone has one question that makes their brain freeze. Drop the number that gets you every time 👇

In manufacturing and skilled trades, the hiring challenge isn’t just “not enough applicants.” It’s this: You can’t afford the wrong one. In many production environments: 🔧 One weak operator slows the line ⚠️ One careless tech impacts safety 📉 One disengaged supervisor kills morale 💸 One poor maintenance hire increases downtime And here’s what makes it harder: Resumes don’t show: 🦺 Safety mindset 🧠 Attention to detail 📋 Rule-following behavior ⚙️ Mechanical reasoning ⏱ Reliability under pressure Yet those are the traits that matter most on the floor. A personality assessment built for sales won’t predict production success. A generic interview won’t uncover safety awareness. High-performing manufacturing teams hire differently: 📊 They measure safety orientation 🧪 They assess procedural compliance 🎯 They evaluate consistency 🧩 They score practical problem-solving In environments where mistakes cost money (or worse), Selection precision isn’t optional. It’s an operational strategy. #hiring #manufacturing #hrcommunity #operations #recruitment #BusinessGrowth
