The only character he ever mentions is Leon. Completely ignores that that outbreak and virus existed before even RE1 the whole reason they are investigating in the Arkley Mountains How can you be fuzzy on the timelines it's pretty obvious he's not obsessed with Resident Evil!

Things Resident Evil's Zack Cregger is wrong about/doesn't know: >RE3 starts before RE2 >RE2 is NOT Day 0 >He doesn't know how long after RE2 the city is destroyed >He says it was nuked He actually says he can't be bothered to know cuz it's not in the movie This is a larp, bro

So I have now watched his film, barbarian and weapons, and I have a better understanding of the filmmaker style. The script that I saw absolutely follows his formula and how he likes to direct a film and how he likes to do comedy and horror. One thing I can say about the director he is absolutely great at the cinematography level when it comes to setting up shots and building up suspense. However, one of the problems I noticed with one of his films that I can see being a problem in this film that I noticed in the script, even without watching any of his films, he likes to make a different film midway through his own and completely tone shift the entire thing which can be very jarring for a lot of audiences, depending on who you are barbarian definitely does this, but it does this in a good solid way where it goes from being suspenseful, creepy than comedic and wild and then it goes from that back to creepy and weird, and then it kinda does the same thing again. The one thing I didn’t notice that he likes to do is a lot of shock horror shocks upon shocks upon shocks, and I kind of predicted it and saw them coming. I was watching the film with a friend, and it was very predictable and very numbing after a while however the one thing I will say I could definitely tell he’s having fun when he’s making a film and it’s very entertaining for what it is. It’s a good party film. Weapons was definitely the better of the two when it came to being way more restrained he definitely does the same thing here where he likes to have multiple POV’s and characters to tonal shift the entire experience he doesn’t like sticking to one formulated view to build up to a point in a nice progressive way. The best way I could probably describe this. There’s moments when you watch his films when it gets to this really nice sweet spot is a horror viewer then it’s like oh man I’ve been waiting for this scary moments and he’s doing it so well and then he he’ll pull back and stop. I would like to call this suspenseful edging rate as soon as you’re about to get to the point that you’re about to get he switches it to something comedic it’s very good for people that like that stuff but some viewers that are looking for the horror experience are not gonna enjoy that element of his style. And clearly based on the script, I’ve read it falls right in line with that I don’t think this film will be his best film. I think honestly this resident evil film will be the worst of his filmography, but do I think it’s going to be the worst resident evil film ever made in live action. Absolutely not. I think that this film will probably be a six out of 10, but it could be a seven out of 10 at best but I think it’ll be more in the six range. Cause this is the first film as far that I’ve seen that he’s stuck with one protagonist the whole time. The unfortunate thing about me reading this script is that the protagonist is very unlikable and the ending conclusion of the film leaves a lot to be desired. I do think it’ll be improved with this cinematic vision, the visuals and the great soundtrack that I’m sure they’ll provide however I don’t think it’s going to be all that inspiring and I don’t think it’s gonna be that resident evil film. That’s so many resident evil fans want to see not by a longshot. I’ll leave my closing opinions on this. I don’t think this film will surpass the very first resident evil film because I think that one has a certain charm and or to it that you just can’t get anywhere and I feel like we rewatch that film on occasion this film I don’t know if a lot of people are gonna rewatch it all that much. I think it’ll be very hip. I think it’ll be very cool and I think as a film on its own it’ll be fine. All things considered I think we’ll get a fine film. Just not a great resident evil film. I stand standby that.

Nah. This script has to be a fake. There's no way they decided that in the middle of the worst zombie outbreak in history it was a good moment to lecture the audience about... abortion? It has to be a lie.

@BreaTrant @cartmansfinsta Wow. You must be retarded. The movie takes place in the 90s and he has an iPhone in the trailer. The fat guy is nothing but a zombie that has rats in his body. There’s a little girl with a tentacle for a foot. It’s not resident evil.

@StankDolphin @cartmansfinsta "The T virus has already established lore." Now that's just funny. "Lore" doesn't mean anything. They create whatever they like for a game in the series. The T-Virus is a plot device to facilitate having a variety of enemies for the player to face. Capcom make retcons regularly.

@BreaTrant @cartmansfinsta Do you lack media literacy? The T virus has already established lore. Zach added tentacle monsters and egg hatching babies which are not associated to the T virus. It’s fan fic. Never existed. T virus only brings the dead to life or mutates muscle into extreme forms.

@StankDolphin @cartmansfinsta What do you mean "fanfic monsters"? Every single RE game introduces new monsters. Why should a film be any different? Even the remake of 1 added a new monster and altered another.

@StankDolphin @s4pphirephoenix @yveswonss @_TheSmartAlec1 That lore wasn’t established until the games they were introduced in. Wait to watch the movie and I’m sure they’ll reveal that it was Spencer’s secret Z-strain that he was testing on this one suburb first for some reason. If it was in a game, that would be enough for people.

@RealTruggler Yes because at the end of the day, Constatin films only wants to retain the rights and Zach wanted to make a monster movie.
