@Flatmi Well, my point isn’t to defend Okello. Far from it. It’s to defend the integrity of the justice system.

The fix was in. Okello stood no chance the moment his trial was set before a mob. The medical examiner who did his assessment on behalf of the state stopped short of pronouncing him mentally ill. It might as well be that he is mentally ill but without proper assessment, there’s no way he could have relied on that defense. His state provided attorney half-heartedly tried to argue that in the closing submissions but you could tell that he was going through the motions. It was predetermined that Okello was gonna be hanged. If justice is about ensuring at least one killer is off the streets and will be paying for his actions, then the court has done well by the community. But if it’s about ensuring that we punish those that deliberately offend the law and rehabilitate those who, through circumstances well beyond their control, end up offending the law then there’s a possibility that a Butabika case has gone to face the hangman’s noose. Anyway, whatever the case, this has been such an awful thing to happen and hope the families of the gruesomely killed children find some sort of peace and comfort.

The law is an arse and, on appeal, that may just be true! If anything we have seen, in criminal trials, get proper defense attorney. @TonyNatif

The High Court judge tried her best to probe an apology from Okello Christopher to Ugandans and the families of the children he murdered. This was before she passed her final judgment, I think the probing was to make sure she reduces the sentence. Unfortunately Okello refused to apologize and she stuck on her death sentence! Okello is GUMITE in his head 👐🏽

@NalukwagoJudith He us not gumite. He is sick, mentally unwell. No sane person could react like that. No remorse, no intent, no direction or purpose. A lot about that case doesn't make sense.

That was a trap and he’s smart he never fell for it. He has maintained throughout his trial that he never intended to murder, and pleaded not guilty. Had he apologized, it would be used against him on appeal. So his case is not yet over if he got good defense lawyers. My only worry is his mental status. Aren’t we trying a mentally unstable man?

@BBCAfrica @KuntaKitten This ruling should become the standard for dealing with those who think they are being smart when they plead insanity! A truly mad person will never admit to being mad!! They should get an automatic death sentence regardless of the crime they're accused of!! 🤷🏽

A 38 year-old man has been sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of four toddlers at a nursery school in Uganda's capital, Kampala, . Christopher Okello Onyum had pleaded insanity but this was dismissed by the judge. bbc.in/3ORKFnK

While at campus, my good IP lecturer Fredrick Mpanga at MUK told me to watch the movie titled ‘Scent of a woman’ starring Al Pacino. He also told me to watch coach Carter by Samuel L Jackson. When i watched those movies, I understood why he told me to watch them.

Be very careful with the friends you make, some people don't eat. It's 7:00pm, and you hear someone say they haven't eaten anything since morning. Not that they don't have money for food, but they forgot or were too busy to eat. Cut off such friends.

Bro I watched this full interview of former Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue last night , bro I can confirm, if you ever decide to get married, only 30% of your assets should be in your names, the rest put them in your parents, brothers, sisters names , these women are so calculative these days, they are in business 😭😭🤦
