I bought an Oura Ring a few years ago. After seeing the effect of a single drink on my HRV and RHR while sleeping, I stopped drinking completely and haven't looked back. I also found it useful to see the effect a lack of sleep was having. I changed a few things in response. I still wear it, but rarely check it.

This blows my mind. I used Whoop for a while. Here’s what I found:
- I wasn’t using the data to change anything
I workout almost daily no matter how i feel.
Bad sleep rating? I have 3 kids. I can’t just catch up on sleep and recovery.

Wesley Bryan and I got into a heated argument about what the majority of people’s favorite club is.
I will stand firm and say it’s a 7 iron. There’s something about that club that’s very different than an 8 and 6.
Wesley said a driver or 60 degree is the majority favorite.

Couple came in eighteen months before his retirement date.
I suggested something I do with clients who are ready.
"Let's run a retirement dry run. Live on your retirement income for ninety days. Right now."
They thought it sounded simple.
Week three she called me.
"We've barely left the house and we've already overspent."
They'd never actually lived on a number before.
Forty one years of two incomes covering everything.
The retirement budget assumed $11,000 a month.
Ninety days in they were running $15,400.
Not extravagantly. Just actually living.
We spent the next twelve months figuring out the real number.
Rebuilt the whole plan around reality instead of optimism.
He retired eight months later than planned.
Those eight months bought them a retirement they could actually afford to live in.
The most expensive assumption in retirement planning is that you know what your life actually costs.
Most people are genuinely shocked when they find out.

@KurtSupeCPA 15k a month is extravagant spending anyway you look at it. They've been extravagant their entire life. If you spend that kind of money monthly and still have a house and car payment, you've failed retirement IMO. 3 homes 2 cars, vacations and Im around 4k a month.

I have a conceal carry permit for the state of Minnesota. In the 8 hr class, they teach you that if you are pulled over with your pistol, tell them right away you have a permit and a gun on you with your hands up. When in a vehicle, the same thing with your hands on the steering wheel. They tell you to NEVER reach for it.
