Agree. arc wise, Arc 4 is along with Arc 6 but anime wise, Season 1 is far superior. Season 2 storytelling is so confusing that people who haven't read the novel still don't realize that Emilia had a mental breakdown in Episode 11, not that she was possessed by Satella 😭

(Hah, fat chance!) - A major factor towards his concern back then was whether people would hate on Subaru. - During Season 1, they did try to make adjustments to make Subaru more "mild". It feels like some of this finetuning then became the baseline, including in the Light Novel version post Arc-3. - Yokotani likes mysteries, so he's a fan of the Watchtower part. - Tappei likes developments where a character, which was once an enemy, aligns interests with their former enemy to become an ally. Like with Meili. - Yokotani lauds how good the voice acting of the Sin Archbishops in Season 3 was. - In general, not much in this interview other than the usual customary hopes for Re: Zero doing well, and getting to its 20 year anniversary!

Re: Zero Special Interview Series in Newtype Magazine - Thread Starting with Fairouz Ai's (Shaula VA) interview: - Fairouz was specifically requested to play Shaula, she did not have to audition for it. - Rie Takahashi's performance in Season 1 was an inspiration to her back when Fairouz was training to be a voice actress. - Shaula's first line, "Found you", was discussed at length along with the Director and Sound Director. They debated whether to have her deliver it with an eerie grin or in a flat tone. It took many takes to get it right. - Fairouz had no idea originally that Re: Zero was this brutal, thinking more so it was a "slow life" kind of show at first.
