As a Niner fan, I miss this guy. I don't think I'll ever see another LB as good as him for the rest of my life.

@StarchyArchie49 @AuronMacintyre GOP was never conservative. They started as the ultra-progressive party (1850s), then industrialists/corporate interests until 1929, and then the "party of fiscal responsibility" (and designated losers). Conservatives have been trying to take it over for generations and failed.

@gpm_sev @AuronMacintyre I see those guys as rebels against NRO conservatism. Many of them eventually come over to traditional conservatism once they have a family...

Not even that. I know exactly what you're talking about but I'm struggling for a word to describe it. Libertarians hate the business community and the government mixing it all, so they really hate cronyism and corporatism. They like talking like Anne Rand, because they know that limited government appeals to voters, but then they sell out the entire government to corporations. We used to call them chamber of commerce Republicans, but honestly, it's so normalized within the Republican party and has been for decades that just the regular word "Republican" pretty much describes a crony capitalist sellout.

@_MATH_YOU @AuronMacintyre I should have said "libertarianish" or "Ayn Rand fanboys". People who take a couple of scoops of the libertarian potatoe salad at the worldview smorgasbord.

@jblackpost @AuronMacintyre Yes. And a real libertarian wouldn't call themselves conservative. I'm talking about the Fox News-adled throng who have devoted themselves to their Lord, Trump.

@AuronMacintyre Today's "conservatives" are right leaning libertarian fanboys of corporatism and crony-capitalism. The right purged the true conservatives from the mainstream 40+ years ago.

I would take the people who lecture me endlessly about conservative principles more seriously if they cared about this in the slightest But they never do, conservatism is about losing and sending money to foreign countries Those are the real principles

@LombardiHimself Folks trying to wrap their heads around the reality that self-appointed NFL Insiders do not, in fact, have the inside scoop on much at all. As if any team would indicate to anyone outside the org was evaluating a particular player. Good analysts can hypothesize, not much more.

Most of the attention has been on the 49ers D-line this offseason. Not surprising given the very depleted state they were in throughout 2025. But… Lynch and Shanahan have quietly improved the strength and depth of their O-line this offseason, as well, by adding three solid veterans (Jones, Lowe, and Toth) and two promising rookies (Willis and Cruz), PLUS securing Trent Williams on a new extension. The 49ers have dramatically improved the D-line, and built a much-improved O-line at the same time. That’s not a minor achievement, but gets no play in the Internet or even mainstream media because it doesn’t fit with the “roster mismanagement” narrative that is trending with the uninformed.

Tucker Carlson is a lot less famous since leaving Fox, and I don't even know why this statement is controversial. Ask your boomer dad or grandpa. Dollars to donuts, they forgot he even exists.

@Aelthemplaer Can you expound on this in terms to its relationship with mass? I’ve pondered this fact as a scientific Luddite from time to time. On a an aside what about the fact that combining elementary particles and produce other elementary particles despite being “indivisible”

@DonAtkinsonNFL @DannyG_49 Their behavior is classic malcontentism. These people (or their parents) booed Jerry Rice in '85 (I was there) when he had the dropsies the first part of the season. They're simplistic critics who know nothing of the complexity of managing a large organization, and it shows.

The Trey Lance fiasco was the crotch kick that brought the 49ers draft tactics and selection process into question. No one was branding the Lynch/Shanahan drafts as “terrible” until then. The Lance draft year (2021) wasn’t even their worst year. They took 4 solid players in that draft who ended up being highly productive starters. 2022 and 2023 were bad draft years. The team’s last THREE drafts (2024, 2025 and this year) all show genuine promise, though it’s too early to say for sure, at least for the last two. But it seems the 49ers draft room is being black-balled by analysts and fans mostly due to the Lance boondoggle and the two drafts afterward that were flops. All I’m saying is that people need to look at the entire body of work. The Lance disaster knocked the team off its axis for two years, but they’ve since recovered, and to suggest they are on a downward spiral is both deceptive and unsupported by any factual evidence.
Danny G@DannyG_49

@Graham_SFN The Lance trade is the root it. Burned a lot of draft capital and got no production in return. 2022 and 2023 drafts were diminished, and poor selections with the remaining picks compounded the problem. 2 straight years with not much young talent added to the team.
