The last few months, and all the work that went into Ignition, was honestly the easy part. The very hard part is everything we do from here forward.. We are days away from Artemis II astronauts flying around the Moon. Then we immediately begin pulling in hardware and stacking for Artemis III in 2027. We have a Moon base to build, a nuclear spacecraft, SR-1 Freedom, to launch to Mars, and all the science and discovery that comes along with these inspiring endeavors. Extremely difficult, in fact near impossible, is what the American people should expect and it is what we intend to deliver 🇺🇸

I switched covering the Red Wings for NHL.com instead of AP for the last season at the Joe, and Jessi was already established in Minnesota. It's going to be tough to not hear her voice as we get ready for playoff coverage.

I have to give the NHL a ton of credit - they were very quick to offer assistance to anyone struggling after we lost Jessi Pierce and her children. That included the team correspondents - we are independent contractors, not employees.

One thing I've been meaning to pass along: During my time at The Athletic, the company had a Slack channel where workers could post in a non-judgemental, open-ended forum any kind of mental health thoughts. As the son of a therapist, I always thought that was forward-thinking as hell. I don't know if other workplaces have something similar but I learned from Mom at a very young age that one of the most important things in a mental health journey was knowing that you were not alone with whatever you were feeling (depression, anxiety etc..). That's why I am always thankful when athletes go public with this stuff (DeMar DeRozan, Lauren Betts, Kevin Love etc..). You literally save lives by telling these stories.

When Charlie Kirk was murdered, those of us on the conservative side rightly chastised those of our political adversaries who cheered and celebrated his death. We accused them--again rightly--of shameful callousness and of polluting public discourse and coarsening social life. What President Trump does here merits the same chastisement, for the same reasons.
