There’s a mom at our school drop-off. Messy bun, always three minutes late, kids usually eating dry cereal out of a Ziploc. The "Pinterest moms" always whispered about her. I honestly felt a little bad for her. Then one day at the playground, my neurodivergent son had a massive, violent sensory meltdown. I’m sitting in the dirt, crying, totally paralyzed. The "perfect" moms just stared and pulled their kids away. Suddenly, she’s there. The messy mom. She drops her giant bag, sits right in the dirt next to us, pulls a heavy sensory toy out of her purse, and calmly shields my son from the crowd. No panic. No judgment. He regulated in three minutes. I was speechless. We had coffee after. She told me her house is a disaster and she has severe ADHD, but she knows exactly what a nervous system collapse looks like. I asked her how she deals with the judgmental stares from the other moms. She took a sip of her cold coffee and said: "Perfect moms know how to bake organic muffins. Chaotic moms know how to survive the trenches." Every time I see her running late now, I just smile. Girls, be like the messy mom. Stop apologizing for your chaos.

Everyone send some good vibes!! Carley, our beautiful, all white CH kitty has an application. A REAL application! She's had DOZENS of applications, but all stopped responding when they found out she's a little bit wobbly. We got her from another rescue who didn't know what to do with her and her condition. Carley spent over 3 years, essentially alone in a spare bedroom with minimal interaction. It took us almost a year of constant love to get her to come out of her shell! She can play, climb, never misses the litter box and super sweet, but people can't handle that she's a bit of a bobblehead. But she has a very real, very good application and could finally find her forever home!! #LetsGoCarley!!

Walked into a restaurant bathroom and a preteen girl looks up from the sink doing her makeup and says, “You’re so pretty.” I was halfway into the stall and turned around and said, “Me??” She said, “Yes, you!” I thanked her. When I went to wash my hands she was leaving the restroom and told me in a beautiful sing song voice, “Have a great day and never forget confidence is free!” I felt like I was visited by a tiny angel.

Someone saw my husband randomly walking by and gave him a bunch of stems and a few tulips and said "here's a piece of spring". I cut the ends and put it in water and it was double cherry blossom 😭😭😭

i found out the school had a robotics club a few days ago and told them they should raid my room (used for a now defunct robotics class 5+ years ago) for some stuff that's been collecting in my closets/drawers.. anyways this email made me cry ;-;
