Tony Evers fought so hard for so long for fairer maps that would give Democrats in the legislature an opportunity to have a seat at the table, but at a moment where it really mattered, he just never invited them to dinner.

NEW: I wrote about the "blockbuster" deal failing at the finish line, and how a fractured Republican Senate caucus and the Evers administration failing to engage with the Democratic Senate led to a missed opportunity. Let's recombobulate: therecombobulationarea.news/p/crucial-shor…

I will vote “no” on the Evers-GOP surplus deal because Wisconsin families deserve more than backroom negotiations and short-term fixes.
Our communities need real investments in public schools and real long-term solutions that address the challenges people are facing every day, not temporary patches that fail to meet the moment.
I’ll continue fighting for structural change and policies that put working people and our communities first.

@BrittCudaback @GovEvers From the Legislative Fiscal Bureau just yesterday:
"Payments from the general aid appropriation are under revenue limits, so the additional aid would provide property tax relief but not additional resources for school districts."
Here's the memo.

I was honored to join the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation Disability Advocacy Day. It was inspiring to see participants uplifting accessibility, inclusion, and advocacy in our community. Rep. Kirsch and I also had the opportunity to recognize Shelly Strasser, Director of Recreation and Community Services, for her leadership and her WPRA award. Grateful for all the work being done to build a more welcoming and inclusive community for everyone.

Today is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Awareness Day. I had the honor of joining Indigenous leaders, families, advocates, and community members at the Capitol to honor the lives stolen and the families forever impacted by this violence. We must continue fighting for justice, accountability, and safety for Indigenous women and girls.

Happy May Day! Today is a reminder of the power of working people. We recognize the generations who fought for the rights and protections we have now, and we recommit to building an economy that works for everyone.
I stand with workers and immigrants across our communities in the fight for fair wages, safe workplaces, and the right to organize!
