JUST IN: The International Skating Union says it is standing with French judge Jezabel Dabouis, who is accused of rigging the ice dance event to screw over Team USA.
The ISU says the bizarre scoring is "normal" and they have "full confidence" it was a fair score.
"It is normal for there to be a range of scores given by different judges in any panel, and a number of mechanisms are used to mitigate these variations," the ISU explained.
The ISU said it has "full confidence in the scores given and remains completely committed to fairness."
Five of the nine judges gave America's Madison Chock and Evan Bates the top score, while the other four gave France's Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron the top score.
Thanks to French judge Jezabel, however, Beaudry and Cizeron took gold, as she gave the French skaters 6.45 points above the mean and undervalued the Americans by -7.19, as reported by SBNation.

Viewers were shocked when France's Laurence Fournier Beaudry & Guillaume Cizeron took gold over America's Madison Chock & Evan Bates. Five of the nine judges gave Chock and Bates the top score, while the other four gave Beaudry and Cizeron the top score. Thanks to the French judge, however, Beaudry and Cizeron were able to take gold, considering she gave Team USA a much lower score than the other judges. "Not only did she judge the French pair 6.45 points higher than the mean, but she undervalued Chock/Bates by -7.19 — giving us a +13.64 delta favoring France over USA in the final score. This represents a staggering 6.37 standard deviation z-score difference across the event," reported SBNation. "There has been a consistent pattern from Jézabel Dabois over multiple events of juicing scores for F. Beaudry/Cizeron in the ice dance, while filing low scores for their opponents," the outlet continued. "When it comes to the Olympic Games, in which France won gold by just 1.43 points, there is no doubt that the scoring of Dabois was the key differentiator in deciding who won the event." During an interview with CBS, Chock and Bates, who are married, called for more transparent judging. This must be investigated.

NEWS: Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss has been granted a sixth season of eligibility by a state court judge in Mississippi. Chambliss received an injunction today, which paves the way for him to play in 2026 after the NCAA ruled he was eligibility. (The NCAA can appeal.)
