The Tories’ ludicrous position on energy was exposed on #bbcqt. Harriet Baldwin argued drilling more oil and gas in the North Sea improves “energy security”. Fiona Bruce challenged her: “If North Sea gas is sold on the international market, how does drilling more make the UK more secure?” Baldwin had no answer … bc there isn’t one. The Tories sold off our oil and gas instead of managing it like Norway. Then Brexit took the UK out of the European Union Internal Energy Market and doubled down on gas priced on global markets. Now they claim drilling more gas we don’t control will make us secure. ❌ It won’t.

@declan_hill It’s a tried and tested Formula Dec. We also know the Asian fixing syndicates are widely travelled and connected globally even into the US. Just keeping uncovering and exposing them. Not easy I know but who else will do it.

The NBA Scandal III The Match-Fixer More perspective on the FBI match-fixing investigation. The match-fixer was completely at his ease. I thought he was going to be nervous. His gang travels around the world corrupting major sports events, so I thought he may have been slightly apprehensive meeting me, but not at all. A friend had arranged a roof-top meeting between the three of us. My friend had spent a great deal of time before the meeting in a state of high trepidation. The fixer, on the other hand, when he finally arrived, seemed utterly focused on having a good time. At one point, at my request, he phoned up his Asian boss. It was the middle of the night, and I had not asked him to do that merely pass on my polite respects. But he got his boss out of bed to show us his influence in one of the biggest match-fixing gangs in the world. In the middle of the long night’s discussion, we asked him what was the biggest challenge to his work. Which specific international agreement has made his life as a match-fixer more difficult? Was it the Macolin Convention? Interpol? The Qatari “sports integrity agency”? The Copenhagen Group of Match-Fixing Experts? Match-FIxer: Who are they?
