@ognev65984 You can, but currently frame-based, not timeline based. (Hit the menu View->Tool Options to show the "frames" panel) More animation tools are planned for a future update.

@elout01 It should already unpack all frames. Menu "view->tool options" - or that little arrow top left above the brush preset - opens some panels, the "frames" being on of them. Hit the play button in that panel to play the animation.

@Steffest .__. pretty nice .. was trying to load an few old dpaint anims .. from early 90s gladly shows first frame i haven't seen these 35++ years .___. thx i have to dig into dpaint anim file format one day .. so i can unpack the different frames pretty cool btw ._______________.

@mrdoob Yes, this is the intended UX (mainly because my head and muscle memory is wired like that: S: select, Ctrl-J: to new layer, V: transform, Ctrl-Shift-Down; merge back) - but I'm aware that might not be the expected default. I'll do some UX exploration on other apps.

@Steffest Couldn't find a way to move the selected pixels... But I figured out I can move the layer with Layer / Transform / Free transform. Is that the intended UX?

@aghilesius First preset is one of the best tracks ever!

Here's a web remake of the 1980's Amiga program Deluxe Paint that was used for pixel art throughout the 16-color generation of computers and consoles, including on Jill of the Jungle and Jazz Jackrabbit.

@Emberheartgames It's very much geared towards my workflow and I realise other people often find it frustrating to use. But I'm very much open to suggestions to improve the UX and feature sets.

@Steffest I've tested it out today, and it's really good! Thank you for making this. Are all tools functional or is it WIP? I can't move anything with rectangular tool unless I'm doing it wrong 🤔

Introducing a new project: Dpaint.js - a web-based image editor with a focus on Commodore Amiga File Formats. Started as Icon Editor, but turned into a fully featured pixel tool, with layers, masks, selections, effects, blend modes, ... Available at stef.be/dpaint/

@Emberheartgames It's still WIP (probably always :-) ) but it should be stable I haven't implemented direct transforms yet for selections. The way I usually work is - select - copy/cut to new layer - transform layer (press 'V') - merge back The Github version is way ahead, will be released soon.

@sometimesfrunny Good point! Currently the left/right mouse button allows you to draw with 2 colors (as in DP) - where 'transparent' can be a color that works like the eraser. But you're right: a right-click on a tool could (and should) be more like DP. Something for the TODO list.👍

This is brilliant! 👍 I worked with DPII for a long time - a long time ago, creating all sorts of game assets. One thing I miss is the two-mouse-button tool setup. In DPII, you can set a tool to the right mouse button by clicking the tool icon with the right mouse button, f.e. the eraser. Or is there a trick to set it in your version?

@S40295 Indeed, it's pure client side. Nothing leaves your browser, no server involved.

@Steffest Oh that's wonderful! I assumed this was a LAMP/FAMP required software. But if it's localhost servable web software, then great! Keep up the work!

@ClubFilth Yup, Belgian too :-) The demoscene is still going strong. People creating music with trackers and retro-tech in general. There's even a yearly event in Belgium: Rsync, every year in the beginning of January in Leuven: demoparty.be

Wow instant follow. I only discovered you just now! Belgian too? Made alot of music on Protracker,Fast Tracker,Octamed,Bars’n’pipes (all Amiga) and later Cubase (Atari ST). My handle was Iceman and I was leader of the Belgian division of Zylon/Alpha Flight. Was pack creator,swapper,trader,CC supplier..Those were the days.. Love Bassoontracker ❤️❤️

@losso3000 Thanks! In fact: it was initially planned to be a HAM image, but with the scrolling and revealing going on, that proved to be a bit cumbersome to implement so we decided to settle for the "close enough" 32 colour version :-)
