So many people who put time, energy, financial, and emotional support into both of Karen’s trials….and this? As someone who watched both unfold in real time, I’ll never forget that delayed roar from the crowd outside when the verdict was read. That sound was collective relief. You could feel it all the way out here in Chicago. It didn’t matter how big or small your role was. If you felt that moment, it’s because you were part of it. I’ve had to sit with a lot of what’s happened since the verdict. I’ve even joked that I prefer to live in the world suggested by that photo Karen and @DoctorTurtleboy took together, where everything ends in some version of peace and we all somehow get a ‘happily ever after.’ But seeing the man who is supposedly her spokesperson post things like this really makes it hard to believe Karen ever gave much thought to the people who supported her in good faith and for what they believed was the collective good. This just feels pretty disrespectful.
