Coolest video ever taken with an iPhone.
Reid Wiseman@astro_reid

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

@bruce_barrett They are there, the camera isn't exposed correctly to see them. The moon is very bright and the stars are very dim so if you took a picture to see the stars the moon would be a white blob thats over exposed. The moon is the subject so you expose for the subject.

I can't wait for image like this from Artemis-2. This image will capture every single human ever in one frame. The attached image is from Artemis-1.

I'm honestly SHOCKED at how the general public has NO IDEA Artemis II is taking humans out to the moon and will be the furthest humans have ever flown. Every non-space nerd I've talked to has no idea. WE GOTTA GET PEOPLE STOKED!!!! THESE FOUR HUMANS ARE FLYING TO THE MOON!!!

Make sure you get to see the lunar eclipse on Tuesday if you can! If you live in Ontario or close to it totality won't be easily visible. The sun will rise before it happens at about 6:20AM #eclipse #Lunareclipse2026

i don't really do deep-sky astrophotography that often but when i do it's always so rewarding. a distant galaxy showing up on the back of your camera when you're in the field is mindblowing. a whole galaxy! a trillion suns all with their own planets!

An updated view of the #orionnebula To make this image, i collected exposures of differing lengths to highlight the faintest areas without blowing out the brightest area, the core. In the second image I highlight the Trapezium, a small star cluster in the core. Follow for more!

Did a redo of some old Jupiter data. The seeing was below average but it can be still made into a really smooth video which is what I did here. Captured Io's shadow transiting Jupiters surface.

I started astrophotography about a year and a half ago. I started with a scope and a mount that didn't track the sky using my cellphone. Now I have much better equipment and my own observatory. The skill is difficult because of the large learning curve but once you learn it, its incredibly rewarding.

🌌 New astrophotographers, including me, keep embracing the struggle—persistence pays off! Post your reprocessed images below-I’d love to see your improvements!!! ✨ My first M51 Whirlpool Galaxy capture and process was a messy start, but it sparked my passion for astrophotography! I wrestled clouds and guiding fails for the frames. Post-processed in ASI Suites DSO Stacker and Lightroom, it was rough but mine. Months later, I revisited the same exact data with new skills, unveiling M51’s spiral arms in stunning detail. Now I use DSS and Pixinsight. Haven’t mastered it, but I improve every time. 🔭 Celestron EdgeHD 8” at f/7, ZWO ASI294MC Pro, Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro, ASI AIR Pro. What’s your biggest astro lesson? @chucksastropho1 Great capture! This is my capture of the same target. There's actually a companion star with 5 Ser called 5 Ser B. I believe they're 80 light years from us, but they are something like 160AU from eachother. Roughly remembering a calculation I did months ago.

My latest capture. M5 is a globular cluster that contains 100,000 stars. It's currently moving away from us at 31 miles per second. The bright star below it is called '5 Ser'. Celestron RASA telescope ZWO ASI533MC camera Antlia L-Filter Starfront Observatories

In 2024 the government's revenue was 495.2 billion dollars, their total budgetary expenditures were about 535 billion. The spending exceeded revenue by 39.8 billion. That means the government spend money it didn't have. Is that responsible? Would you do that in your house with a line of credit?

@StellarViewz @ewenclark92 @mrmckee @grok This is just an outright lie and he never said he would only build subsidized housing. Also I’m sure if pushed you have no concrete answers on exactly how the government is too expensive. Typing more words does not make your terrible points anymore true.

Something seems fishy with the election result. I was working for elections Canada tonight in Durham Region & we hadn’t counted a single vote. Then I go on my phone & see CTV declared the Liberals winning. How is that possible?

I was over exaggerating but a large majority of those houses are definitely going to be federally subsidized, just think about it. They are spending tax payer money to build houses. Ultimately, the liberal plan is faster then the conservatives but extremely costly to the tax payer, the conservative plan is slower and more market based but more fiscally responsible in the long run.

Bullshit political games. The ballot w/ over 100 names. Elections Canada should be ashamed. Cost of say $10k to get your name on ballot. And another $25k deposit refunded so long as you land say 250 votes. This is utter contempt of logical integrity.
