Incredible development in the case of the UW troon who was stabbed.
The killer told prosecutors that he just wanted to murder a woman. That was his motive.
So he either thought the troon was a woman, or he actively included “trans women” in his definition of “women.”
Not only was this not a transphobic hate crime, it is probably the world’s first gender affirming murder.
Transphobia would have saved this guy’s life.

Progressive socialism isn’t going to be a vote winner in Dorset. I’ve lived here all of my life and it’s largely a traditionalist small c-conservative area, not taken in by populism or socialist economics.
It’s traditionally Tory vs Lib Dem for that reason. Restore might have a good chance there, as it isn’t sensationalistic or populist like Reform.

Britain is built on a Christian culture. Our parliamentary system, common law, emphasis on human dignity, the idea that all are equal before God (and therefore the law), the weekend, hospitals, universities, and the very language of fairness, mercy and justice we use every day, these are all shaped by centuries of Christian thought and tradition.
You can be British without going to church. But the values that make Britain what it is, individual liberty, care for the vulnerable, and the belief in moral truth, are inherently Christian in origin. We weaken our shared identity if we pretend otherwise.
