@SimonHoiberg Thanks for the advice! Has there been any burden having to provide “proof” to the canton you are living in that your business is operating in Zug? Also, Obwalden looks amazing, congrats on the new place and enjoy!

One solution to the ‘Migration Question’ in the C21st is to reverse recent migration and then just lock everybody in place… but it is a truism that history is a story of migration and it would probably be politically difficult to sustain that ‘no freedom of movement’ model indefinitely. Another solution might be to re-think slightly what a nation state is, what it is for and how different rights are conferred to different categories of citizens. Something like this ‘fairly’ and ‘symmetrically’ internationally applied would re-open up the world in many interesting ways too…

If it becomes politically impossible to ‘Sakoku Jidai’ / permanently close-off countries from migration because of eg the invention of the airplane instead of every country just devolving into Canada better to have equal opportunity controlled non-citizen populations like Dubai

Thais will hate it but Thailand like Bali and the UAE can become one of first proper post-national states; what equal opportunity ‘no borders for decent human capital’ taken to its logical conclusion looks like ie legacy national culture and a large non-citizen ‘expat’ population

@AdameMedia cmon thats unneeded sensationalism. guess what: the power of the state comes out of the barrel of a gun. He just speaks that part out. Its not like others wont hesitate to do the same.

Thailand is considering shortening the tourist visa from 60 days to 30 days due to widespread frustration with tourist behaviour. Main complaints by nationality by Thais: Chinese tourists: Travel in large, loud groups, often rude and disrespectful. Refuse Thai food, only eat Chinese cuisine. Frequent littering and ignoring religious site rules. Indian tourists: Large groups that litter beaches. Loud public behaviour. Aggressive haggling. Refuse to follow venue rules. Dominant presence in sex tourism areas like Pattaya. Low spending compared to other tourists. Many working illegally. Hygiene issues. Russian tourists: Drunken, disruptive behaviour. Shirtless in public. Fighting and rowdy antics Sense of entitlement. Working illegally. Israeli tourists: Strong sense of entitlement. Unpaid bills. Public intoxication. Aggressive and disrespectful behaviour. British tourists: Stag and hen night culture. Blackout drinking. Shirtless in public. Bar fights and disorderly conduct.

@Steph03012009 @Boyychaaa "at least that confined to that remote island" Except they are not.. Its almost every island, Lipe, PhiPhi, Samui, KPG, Tao, Samet, Phuket, etc etc etc etc.. If you find one where it isnt swamped by mass tourism, you would do well to keep it to yourself.

I hate to say this, but I don't think I'd have the same confidence roaming around a US city vs. Spanish city meeting girls. If I enter a room in the US, I'm a nobody. Every guy mogs me financially and career-wise. Can you imagine walking into a social event in NYC or SF? You'd get mogged to death before you can say "hi." There are guys walking around in there who make in a day what you make in a year. Everyone is asking "what do you do," not out of genuine curiosity, but to immediately determine how important, useful, or relevant you are, and therefore how much respect to accord to you and how much weight to place on your opinions. If I enter a room in Spain, and I bump into other dudes, I know there's a >90% chance I mog them financially (even in an expat-heavy city like BCN). The income statistics are public and known, and I know the figure on my annual tax return. Nobody talks about money; nobody really cares. But it affects your internal confidence, your private self-talk. Whether we admit it or not, we look down on people poorer than us. Frame cannot be based on delusional and obstinate self-belief -- that doesn't work. It must be based on hard evidence, past successes, social proof, and real accomplishments.

The pursuit of mass tourism is killing off the appeals of Thailand. So many parts are now just swamped in western tourism. 😢 How can Thailand find a way to be less dependant on tourist income and reduce arrivals ? It means sacrificing GDP and income to keep some parts of the country traditionally Thai.

@DrJesseMorse Brother, I don't think anybody born after 1970 knows who that is. Some people get lucky. Kind of like cancer. Some people receive treatment and get better. Some people receive treatment and die. Steve Jobs died from cancer when he was one of the richest men in the world. Happens.

If you are young get your ass to Vietnam. Learn the language. Try and get on the property ladder. It’s my #1 advice for nomad capitalists. I moved to China in 1998 so I walked the walk. (China is still good but you are up against people in your generation that will run circles around you.)
Dan Collins@DanCollins2011

Vietnam is rising. One of my friends just put $100m in a plant there. They built it in 6 months. Like China does. Smart, hard working people. Vietnam will be a mini-China circa 2015. Won’t lead on tech like China but will become a massive exporter powerhouse. Will be interesting in local SE Asia politics as Vietnam becomes a regional superpower.

@mattforney huh is there a perception of indians being law abiding out there?

The Indian actually gets it right: tons of Indians and Africans were flying to El Salvador and then entering the U.S. illegally. (Again, exploding the myth that Indians are "law-abiding.") The entry fee was implemented to end that. DEI: Deport Every Indian.
Right Angle News Network@Rightanglenews

BREAKING - Indians and Africans attempting to enter El Salvador are now shocked to learn that the country is imposing a $1,300 “airport improvement fee” before granting them entry, with one Indian man so mad he is telling fellow Indians not to travel there.
