@NJMomforinpers1 @JillFilipovic @SeattleWA_Mike @dieworkwear 2 different issues, but SheIn quality clothes do not last, so this can be a false economy. If you don't have time to research, then ethically buy more expensive clothes for a better chance of a less harmful supply chain. Also, thrifting for the win!

@JillFilipovic @SeattleWA_Mike @dieworkwear Most normal people don't have the time to sit down and figure out who is making everything that they buy and if it sourced responsibly. I can't speak to the lady in the photo but most Shein customers are living on shoestring budgets.

@JillFilipovic In the UK you get a minimum of 3 points for speeding. Reach 12 points, and you lose your license. Truly egregious speeding can score more points and even an immediate short ban. A speed awareness course can usually substitute for the first offense. Solid system.

@JRobb1995 @SixoTF @HMBohemond I mean I'm just telling you my lived experience. And if you're saying 3+ decades of targeting boys with advertising was effective in selling more to boys then of course I would agree. But the idea that girls by nature wouldn't find a transformer a fun toy to play with is bizarre.

@StephBGB @SixoTF @HMBohemond If you are seriously gonna act like most girls do or would enjoy transformers that’s just disingenuous and you’re basing it completely off anecdotal evidence vs 3+ decades of statistics that say otherwise. Some boys like Barbie. It’s not a boys brand, and no one would argue that

Transformers went from dead to multi-billion dollar franchise to dead again for two reasons: 1. Hasbro's bizarre discomfort with Michael Bay's films being what relaunched the franchise from the grave. 2. People like this guy demanding it undermine itself for a female audience that just isn't there.

@JRobb1995 @SixoTF @HMBohemond Not atypical amongst my friends. Like I get it, social conventions and sexist stereotypes might have discouraged some girls from being able to enjoy TF. But to assume "only a certain type of girl" would like them is wrong. I had my fair share of traditional "girl toys" too.

@StephBGB @SixoTF @HMBohemond No That’s the whole point. There is nothing wrong with little girls liking boy brands. It also doesn’t mean you’re not a normal little girl. You just had unconventional interests vs most other girls your age for the most part. Transformers is targeted at boys, not exclusively for

@HMBohemond I'm honoured you give me so much credit lol You're also wrong on the franchise being in 'the grave' prior to the films btw — if you're going to make posts like this, at least know your stuff

@JRobb1995 @SixoTF @HMBohemond Do tell me about the "certain type of woman" to which you speak? I was a kid that thought robots that turned into vehicles were fun to play with, and I liked cartoons. Did I do "being a child" wrong?

@SixoTF @HMBohemond Again. Completely dodging the point. Same thing with Star Wars. OF COURSE women have always been involved and have been fans. But a certain type of woman. It was catered towards boys and women liked it. Compare that to now where they’re actively catering to a new audience

@WelshDebra @LDN_TWEET @claudelittner I used to work for a large health and social care provider, so FULL respect for what you do! Constant staff turnover, and hard to recruit (and retain) good people. There may be a recruitment business niche there, but you're spot on - they never explained how she would meet it.

@StephBGB @LDN_TWEET @claudelittner I work in Healthcare and manage inductions for new staff 2x a month. I have a genuine perspective on this. There was no mention of how she would solve the challenges. It was just about how great she was and that people would have her on speed dial. Lord S made the correct choice

@claudelittner I think the candidates were as credible as ever, and as you say a healthy mix. But production wise I found it a harder watch this year. I didn't feel they 'told the story' in as compelling a way as in the past. It all felt rushed - maybe too many candidates?

To your point on 'quality', I am not sure I agree! Every year, there is a mix of entertaining candidates who ultimately fail to impress Lord Sugarand as we saw this season, some genuinely promising prospects with business acumen and an investable business plan.ong may it vk .
Stephanie@StephBGB

@LDN_TWEET @claudelittner This was the elephant in the room for me, and the fact it wasn't mentioned was a screaming indicator she couldn't win. Her USP was 1:1 conversations? I'm sure she's very good, but she can't be 50,000 places at once. The series has lost some quality.

@claudelittner Maybe there was more to it than shown on TV but I struggle to see how the recruitment business could scale. It just looked like her being a consultant. How would she expand, attract the right people etc etc.

@SixoTF @___Asmodeus____ What I feel in equal parts infuriating and amusing, is that this individual thinks he is "in charge" or "owns" the fandom to permit or deny access? My man, I don't need your permission to do ANYTHING.

Only randomly stumbled across it now, but hilarious this bloke was so upset at the idea of women also liking Transformers and it not being purely a "boy's hobby", he repeatedly asked Grok for evidence but didn't get the answers he wanted Yes, female Transformers fans exist
Grok@grok

No exact official census exists, but a 2013 Facebook fandom survey showed Transformers fans at 59% male / 41% female. TFNation 2018 convention reports had women at nearly 50% of 21-31 attendees (up a third in three years). Hasbro noted tripling U.S. female toy sales after adding more inclusive female characters. The split's closer to balanced than "guy thing only," especially in comics/shows vs. core toy buyers.

What is with this boomer obsession with calling anime “cartoons”? Y’all can’t just call things “anime” for whatever reason, it’s it embarrassment? Normies watch Death Note and Demon Slayer for crying out loud.
Sixo | Transformers@SixoTF

Idk man, is that not just... how he looked in the cartoon? Like I know it's not exact, but that seems more plausible to me than them designing it around this one very specific mistransformation pic. They will have had a whole massive mood board of influences, not just one photo

Sad to say I lost my good friend Esme today She was 16 years old & unfortunately it was her time. She’s been a constant presence since we rescued her back in 2014 - she was never far away from my side and always made sure to get involved with Transformers She will be missed x

@SixoTF People out there buying their 14th version of OP, and we're told there isn't a market for ONE version of a female character? I would have loved an Arcee back then and am looking with disdain at this idiotic gatekeeping

The funny thing about this attitude is that it's total BS and always has been — even most of us who grew up with the OG Transformers wanted an Arcee toy back in the day This kind of misogynistic nonsense was out of place in the 80s but keeping it going today is just sad

@1Capak @gaghyogi49 I always felt it was an intentional nod to Picard letting go of the past in favor of a much more treasured possession: his family album. But agreed, the lack of care towards something supposedly so rare is off-putting!

Talking about the passage of time, I can't believe that three years have already passed since #StarTrekPicard season 3 first aired. Somehow, I failed to write about the symmetry between the final scene of "Generations" and "The Last Generation" back then, visually and in terms of the soundtrack.

@SnappyNebula @JillFilipovic You don't know what a primary identifier is, and you actually think in a hospital or jail setting they use a driver's license to determine sex? Wow... That's embarrassing for you.

@StephBGB @JillFilipovic Because sex is a primary identifier Steven and it doesn’t change regardless of what lalaland you chose to live in. Besides if you go to jail/hospital they need to know where to place you based on your sex hope this answers your question

@AnimReality @JillFilipovic Exactly. So let's make the sex marker align with how someone is when they get their license in the same way as we treat eye and hair color.

In #StarfleetAcademy's "Ko'Zeine", we get a really good look at Nahla Ake's Excelsior class (refit) model in her office. There's also her NX class model on the left and her Defiant class model on the right. All of the starship models were rearranged for this one brief shot in the episode.

@claudelittner This story is actually about some kids not feeling safe to explore their identity with their parents, and that's where the concern should be - not with schools trying to offer a safe space. No school is actively "transitioning" anyone, and it would be silly to think they were.
