Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and Junior Minister Aisling Reilly hosted the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls ‘Seeking Refuge’ photography Exhibition hosted by @womensaidabcln in partnership with @ANBorough. Speaking at the event in Parliament Buildings, the deputy First Minister and Junior Minister welcomed the powerful exhibition and said the personal stories were a stark reminder of the reality for many women experiencing abuse. They praised the women involved in the project for having the courage to speak out about the devastating impact violence against women and girls has.

❤️🙌NEW: Every school in Northern Ireland now has a defibrillator. 🎥🎤Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 was at Ballymoney High School to mark the milestone. 👥Education Minister @paulgivan took part in a training exercise with pupils. The defibrillator is positioned at the school so that the local community can also use it. The initiative to roll out Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) has seen 476 devices delivered to schools since it was announced in November 2024. Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces a person’s chances of survival by up to 10%. Since 2022, more than 500 teachers have been trained through the Community of Lifesavers Programme, developed by the Department in partnership with CCEA and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
