This marks the end of 270 days in the field with these trouble makers. I am just about ready to never see a magpie again (I hear them in my sleep at this point🫠🦅) Now straight to Shark Bay for dolphin season🐬 Will be glad of a big nap and a holiday when this is all over 🥴

Very hard to conduct serious research when your study species is trying to eat your toes… This little one is 11 weeks post-fledge and already very sure of themself…and very peckish👀

But for now… Feels good to be back with my feathered friends! My magpie field season commences with finding everyone’s nests so I can be ready to go when the new batch fledge! 🪺
