@EgyptMcr @EugeneCann17 @TheEES And the Cairo and Berlin busts were almost certainly made by different craftspeople as they were both found still within the workshops in which they were made. The Berlin bust in the Thurmond Workshop and the Cairo one in the “Waddington Workshop”

@EugeneCann17 @TheEES @Steph_Boonstra I doubt she looked anything like this, which is a stylised image & has been shown to follow very precise standardised measurements. We desperately want to see the ancient Egyptians as they were but they evade our best attempts (can you tell I'm writing a book on this subject?!)😅

This #StatueSunday I've been thinking a lot about this striking 3350 year old unfinished head of Queen Nefertiti uncovered in 1933 during @TheEES excavations at Amarna. It's featured in @Steph_Boonstra & I's forthcoming book on 50 significant EES discoveries ... 👀🤓📕

Back in Cairo after a whirlwind weekend in Alexandria - which included a Friday stroll with @CGraves88 around the city, including a visit to the Serapeum.

Over 4 million books plus so much more. Very privileged to see the newly acquired handwritten dictionaries of Ahmed Kamal Bey.

Was such an honour to work with 10 amazing Egyptian scholars and the @EgyptianMuseumC to have a Walking Trail exhibition in Egypt’s “Mother Museum”. Was a lot of work but really proud to see @theEES banners welcoming all the visitors to the museum!

We're delighted to launch a walking trail in the @EgyptianMuseumC highlighting 12 discoveries made during @TheEES excavations since 1882. 10 early-career Egyptian scholars, participants of our Egyptological Archives Skills School, researched the panels. ℹ️ees.ac.uk/resource/disco…

Really enjoyable visit to @AUC_RBSCL to meet with Amr Kamel and view some of the huge and amazing collection of rare books and archive - much of the archive focussing on documents and work of some of the most prolific Egyptian Egyptologists. @AUC @AUC_Library
