Nicki Glaser: I can't get off without watching porn. Joe Rogan: You can't get off at all without watching porn? Nicki Glaser: Not even close. I wouldn't even try. If my internet was down we had a power outage the other day at my house and it was just like, "Okay, well, I would be screwed without I couldn't do it. I mean, I would figure out a way. I think I would manage. but if my if my toys aren't working and aren't plugged in, and if I don't have porn, I'm just not getting off. I've never been someone who can do it manually and, and with my imagination. It's really a problem, because the porn I watch is like, not good. Joe Rogan: What kind? Nicki Glaser: Joe... Joe, Joe, Joe. Joe Rogan: Nicki, Nicki, Nicki. Nicki Glaser: Um, dude, it's bad. I mean, I got a threat on like, a DM from just some fucking troll a while back that was like, If I put out a hit on the dark web for you to be gang-raped and asked paid the guys $100,000 to do it I can make that happen and you know someone would accept that." And I was like "Jokes on you, that's my fantasy." Now, I mean I was... I don't really mean that. Please do not do that. Joe Rogan: (Chuckles) Nicki Glaser: But I was also like, no, that's I'm not joking, like, that's tends to be the stuff that I watch is like really aggressive, gangbangs, and like women tied up. I pay for my porn because I feel so bad what's happening to the women in it. I hope that they are being compensated for it. So I pay, like, 30 bucks a month for Kink.com. I'm watching really fucked up stuff. Um, and I've always been to. been into like being tied up and like I I'm someone who doesn't feel like I deserve pleasure without, like, having pain.

@VaynetyB @agbalagbo It would seem we do not choose what emotion we feel in any given event. And if love is an emotion. And it is. Then we do not choose who we love. We can only choose who we show act of love to. Thanks for allowing me to find the answer to my own question.

@Stephan72426940 @agbalagbo That is a great description of infactuation. Yes, I have felt nostalgia, longing, deep sadness, desire, lust, butterflies, pheromones, and romance. That is not love.

@VaynetyB @agbalagbo Love is a feeling and vibration. You can walk into a room and feel the love without anyone making an action. Anger is also a verb. And you can feel it without taking action.

@VaynetyB @agbalagbo A verb meaning a mode of being. Love as a feeling, an emotion. A vibration that the body produces when it looks at someone or something. The vibration that people can describe as the heart skipping a beat. Maybe you understand it as an action because you have yet felt it.

Love isn’t a feeling that chooses who to love. It’s a verb. You actively choose to love someone through your actions. The ability to turn those acts on or off is what determines who you truly love. If you’re not doing the loving things, you’re not really loving them. Feelings can come before or follow, but the actions are the decision point. You can turn them on or off because love must be voluntary rather than some intangible, passive, uncontrollable force. Involuntary commitment and service IS slavery. Love requires that we freely choose who we serve.

@VaynetyB @agbalagbo I’m not convinced that choosing to preform acts of love and having the ability to choose to turn them off and on is the same thing as choosing who you love.

I’m not talking about generosity or enabling a drug addict or turning a blind eye to someone harming themselves. I’m talking about people giving themselves to others. Love is a verb. Millions of kids don’t have loving parents willing to give them what they actually need… real support and raw time, rather than an Xbox, a phone, unlimited screen time, and three meals a day. I’m talking about choosing to do something you might not even want to do, simply because it’s what someone else needs. Taking someone to AA. Helping a homeless person with clothes, a shower, and a warm place to stay for the night instead of just tossing them $20. With a friend, it means dragging them out of the house after a bad breakup, giving them cash (not a loan) when they are struggling, or going to that social thing you dread because you feel pretty sure this year there will be no call no shows. With a spouse, it means making sure their needs are met according to their particular love language. (Without any thoughts of reciprocation!)

@VaynetyB @agbalagbo Generosity can be an action fueled by love but it is not love in itself. Giving and sacrifice sound more like actions fuled by love rather than love itself. For example there are cases in which you would need to stop giving out of love. Let’s say enabling bad habits.

You can choose to stop loving someone by deciding to no longer sacrifice for them. That doesn’t mean you’ll stop having feelings for them, however. Caring and attachment aren’t love. Love is truly a choice to sacrifice for someone. Modern culture is trash because it equates love with desire, hormones, sex, attachment, security etcetera. While there are different types of love, they are simply different ways of committing or sacrificing yourself. So… if you have chosen to love someone. Do it properly. Give to that person how they would want you or need you to give to them, not because you need anything back. If you are unwilling to do that then you’re putting yourself first.

@VaynetyB @agbalagbo If love is a choice why can’t you just unlove someone at will? Does one actually choose to fall out of love or does it happen naturally? I can say that everyone who I have ever loved I still love them. That’s not to say that I want to be with them but I still have love for them.

I don’t know why, but I’ll be real for a second. Love is a choice. The video above is bs. Most people nowadays don’t understand what love actually is, and they’re miserable as a consequence. Love is the choice to sacrifice for someone else without any expectation of reciprocation. It’s the greatest gift we can give or receive because it cannot be earned. Millions of divorces happen because people “fall out of love” or say they aren’t being loved in return. We are not owed love, as it is a free sacrifice. We don’t fall out of love… we choose to stop loving. To demand reciprocal love is to demand compensation for your sacrifice. So many people self-destruct because they love freely and deeply, only to realize the world doesn’t owe them anything in return. There’s a saying that the opposite of love isn’t hate, but indifference. That’s flowery bullshit. The opposite of love isn’t hate.. it’s selfishness. It’s when you put yourself ahead of others, making you incapable of sacrificing anything for them.

I have a friend I'm trying to hire who's basically unemployable and homeless however like, once u start knowing her you basically get roped into her life as if it's a tv show. Like, she causes insane amounts of property damage (one time she accidentally poisoned me) but her existence as living art is so enjoyable and also funny like she gets kicked out of everyone's house and then eventually ppl get sad and want her back so she basically circulates around like, I'm fairly certain this wud be a job in the medieval times but how does one employ someone like this ? I feel like I have an unusually large amount of unemployable but brilliant friends. Is there a healthier way for society to support these figures? It's like Socrates syndrome
