You know how the gas industry is always banging on about how their taxes pay for our schools and hospitals? Turns out they’re not. We are.

New report underscores concerns that keeping ageing Eraring #coal plant open could result in higher prices and less reliable supply – the opposite of what was intended reneweconomy.com.au/when-the-coal-…

@Matt_KeanMP Well said. Aust needs to replace over 60% of our ageing coal generation over the next 10 yrs. To change legislation & build a nuclear industry in the timeframes is prohibitive. It has to be firmed renewables as a priority to maintain energy security, reliability & affordability

Are you struggling to pay your bills? Because the gas industry isn’t. If you've paid ANY tax, you've paid more tax than the gas export industry has EVER paid in resources tax. How is that fair? #auspol

the major parties have seen their primary votes fall from 96% in 1975 to 68% in 2022. they had two options to arrest the decline: 1. win back trust with good governance & good policy 2. rig the system tonight they chose to rig the system. a dark day for australian democracy.

Nuclear debate is a distraction & delay tactic. Fact our coal stations have reached end of life. replacement generation is needed asap & the tech available & cost effective now is renewables. Delays is what is driving bills to go up!! Not renewables!!! nexaadvisory.com.au/consumer-cost-…
💧simon holmes à court 🦋@simonahac

🤓 some australian politicians would have you believe that #nuclear is growing quickly all around the world. actually, outside china (where it's growing, but at a fraction the rate of renewables), total nuclear generation has been on the decline since 2006 — down 16% from peak.
