I adore this building and miss working in it while at @DTAHtoronto. In a perfect world I’d love to see an organization like @oaarchitects, @ToSoArch, or @RAIC_IRAC buy it and turn it into a Centre for Architecture, especially since we no longer have a Design Museum in Toronto

Moriyama designed a landmark and an inspiration for science museums around the world. It regularly drew over 900k until Crosstown construction. It still drew almost 700k in 2022-23, despite COVID and a closed entry bridge. You’ve reduced it to a pop-up play area at a mall.

It was wonderful visiting the @OntScienceCtr satellite location at Sherway Gardens and seeing so many children enjoying the exhibits, Towers of Tomorrow and Circus! This pop-up features exciting, family friendly, interactive activities guaranteed to inspire young minds!

Imagine being the Minister of Infrastructure and not knowing the difference between a cultural amenity and a mall exhibit. Not understanding the vastly different functions, impacts & community value add of these two things is astounding.

It's great to learn that @UNESCO has designated Africville, Nova Scotia, a Place of History and Memory. Africville was a historic Black community on the edge of Halifax, which was bulldozed in the 1960s. atlantic.ctvnews.ca/african-nova-s…

"Payback time" is an odd way to frame a First Nation operating entirely within the rights they've long been denied to created an urban environment that will provide shelter and financial support to their community.

Watching the BC leaders debate. @Dave_Eby says we should look at the great things First Nations are doing at the south end of the Burrard St Bridge. Well, I see it almost every day and as an architect said to me today, it's their way of saying "it's payback time". It's awful.
