@itsraiialex As a result of many schools not letting the Irish attend their schools Irish Catholic communities started building their own Catholic schools. They built some of the first Catholic schools in the country other than grit and determination to give their children better.

@bkcinny @HannahDCox Don’t disagree—but my great-grandparents were Irish immigrants on my mom’s side and French immigrants on my dad’s. Outside NW Ireland, there’s not much confusion. My Irish side spoke Gaelic + English; my French side spoke French at home. Both valued education. 🤷‍♂️

@StephenDespinJr @HannahDCox Butttt than you also have to realize that every region/area has its own style of speech. US proper English is our own adaption of the British English. I think ppl love to jump to conclusions instead of asking questions. Only way I was able to survive the south lol

@bkcinny @HannahDCox Don’t disagree at all. Proper English and grammar are important all around for productive communication in a predominantly English speaking nation.

I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First. That’s what I believed he would do. All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR. Nothing to lower the cost of living for Americans. Nothing to reduce our near $40 trillion in debt. Nothing to save Social Security, which goes bankrupt in just a few years. Nothing to lower the cost of insurance. Nothing to address jobs for Americans. Nothing about education for our children. Nothing about our children’s future. Nothing for America’s future. I’m so beyond done. I pray for our military and their families. I pray for innocent people all over the world. I pray for peace and prosperity for all.
