Skerries Day 5. I thought I'd blown it by not finding anything yesterday when the winds were in the south east. I hadn't. A bird dreams are made of.

@DarbyBug You never see Chiloe anymore. Is is definitely a hybrid not just a funky Mallard?

Spot Red, Green Sand, 6 juv Ruff, GWE, c70 Golden Plover, funky mallard hybrid (Chiloe Wigeon?). 48 Bl t Godwit, Common Tern, 2 Avocet, Peregrine, Marsh Harrier, good number hirundines (mainly Swallow), min 15 Kestrel best of HOM this am

A collection of phone-scoped shots from Skippool today. Ruff, Knot, one of 4 present Med gulls and the highlight, a Spotted Redshank found by @StephenDunstan2 this evening, all good birds for the site. @FyldeBirdClub

Just had this beast of a Hoverfly in my garden - have seen this species down south before but never one in Lancs - are the common up here now too with a gradual spread up north?

@DarbyBug Grange-over-Sands. They've turned up at Hodbarrow before.

Solid start to the goose season with this cracking pair of Bar-headed at Banks! Also 2 Pinks, Green Sand, 3 Eider and Marsh Harrier - roll on July!

I was @FyldeBirdClub support to Wyre Walking Festival's dawn chorus stroll in Garstang this morning. Gropper and Tree Sparrows the highlights of 25 species.

Pink footed Goose still on Ormsgill rez. Also spending time on the Griffin eating grass ( with Greylags). Witnessed it fly today @StephenDunstan2

Norwegian ringed Herring Gull at Roosebeck, Cumbria today. Does that make it argentatus?

@GTAlstonWader I had one on Skerries in late October, felt the same. Another year I had a new in clearly starving juvenile Rosy Starling in early November that felt similarly unseasonable.
