@james_xond Well, apart from actual physical activities, we TALKED on the phone, the rotary or pushbutton phone. Every night during my high school years, I talked to either a girlfriend, or my best friend, Jerry, for 2 to 4 hours. Every night. And I remember it as time well spent.
English

@Kristinartz My daughter is Madelaine, my grandmother was Marjorie and my great grandmother was Margaret. They all ended up getting the same nickname from their friends: Madge
English

@DaizyZeeX @Ravenismeee I do that and generally remember everything on it. If I miss something I say "they didn't have any"
English

@Ravenismeee Yesterday scribbled a grocery list, forgot it at home like always

@Leonie31522242 @robynbryant33 I was born in 1956. My dad was a very keen competition rifle shooter so I spent most Saturdays on Anzac Rifle Range at what is now Wattle Grove. The club houses were in those old nissan huts
English

@robynbryant33 I was in the second intake in the new Liverpool Girls’ High in 1955.My classmates were mostly European migrants, some from the nearby Nissan Hut accommodation they’d been given as refugees. Those girls were high achievers and came to school in National dress.
English

@james_xond Maybe 11. It was a.22 rifle. My dad was a competition shooter most of his life in the oldest sports club in Australia so I practically grew up on a range

@FalconbridgeV01 @lady_valor_07 Jumping from the plane door to the top step of the exit ramp is jumping off a plane no matter how far off the ground that is
English

@lady_valor_07 Well even if a plane is on the tarmac, the door is still 8-15 feet off the ground
I know if I jumped 15 feet I'd probably hurt myself 🤔
So depends on the plane, if its a small aircraft then yeah you can just step out 🤣

@DrNeilStone To be fair, you would also need to check of it is just the wearing of the parachute that saves lives, or does it also have to be opened.
English

@GrandpaHarris65 It makes perfect sense. Trump supporters accept anything he says without question or even listening. Trump is the same when it comes to King Charles, Putin and Netanyahu

@Mr_Husky1 If they comment, just say the cats must have done it
English

I had a best friend who recently had a loss in their family. I'm feeding her cats while she is away.
Would it be weird if I tidied up her apartment while I'm there? Not that it's dirty! She had to leave in a rush to catch a flight. So like wash the dirty dishes in the sink, wipe down the counters. That type of thing.
I feel like if I lost a family member, coming back to a tidy home would take so much weight off my shoulders.

@sigaJohny that's easy, they'd didn't have one but I do remember my mother's work number BO152
English

@ArchaeoBenjamin I wonders because bike trials is a fascinating sport. I really don't understand how they manage navigating obstacles like rocks, logs, or urban structures on a specialized, seatless bicycle without letting feet touch the ground
English

@catshealworldd I have 3 cats. They respond to their individual name and ignore the others
English

@CBlueStrike @luxemiaa Maybe she heard Brassilia instead of Brussels
English

@luxemiaa I think they misheard you. You said Brussels and they thought you said Brazil?
English

“Where are you flying to?”
“Brussels”
“Where is your visa”
**shows visa**
**ignores visa shown and flips to another page**
“Your Brazil visa expired”
“OK, but I’m not travelling to Brazil, I’m going to Belgium”
“Where’s your visa?”
“The one I already showed you”
“That one is for The Netherlands”
“You’ll figure it out soon enough”
“You need a valid visa for Brazil to go to Belgium”
“I do not”
**blank stare**
**blank stare**
“Let her pass, all her documents are in order”
“Oh, you know her?”

@KeruboSk In 1970 at high school, I had a horticulture teacher who was a pupil at the school when it first opened in 1907. That would have him born in about 1895 to 1897
English

@Shaun_A_Ernst @SusieAcacia @learning_yohei Probably capitals score extra govt funding and infrastructure
English

@StephenJ_Hall @SusieAcacia @learning_yohei What are the practical implications of state capitals? Just the seat of government?
English

@SusieAcacia @learning_yohei New York isn't even the capital of New York state
English

@learning_yohei I was asked this in the US, and when I told them it was Canberra they asked “why isn’t it Sydney?”. I responded with “why isn’t it New York?l.
