Fact checking fraud claims: Heritage Foundation documented 1,620 cases of voter fraud from 1982-2025, including 100 cases of noncitizens voting. That's about 0.000008% of more than 1.3 billion votes cast in presidential elections in that time. @YLindaQiu nytimes.com/2026/03/27/us/…

Anyone accusing the Chicago Cubs for ruining baseball? They have easily spent more money than any team in MLB this winter: $488 million after Nico Hoerner’s 6-year, $141 million contract is finalized.

I’m not sure what the price would’ve ended up being or if I would’ve liked it. However, I have frequently thought about how much more I would like this Red Sox team with Ketel throughout the offseason.

@DanBFox1287 FSG expects each of its franchises to make money or break even. Not every year, but over time they have to at least break even. They do this by adding new revenues, mostly sponsorships. They make money by selling at a profit, i.e. the Penguins or selling minority partnerships.

There is a lot of truth in this video and I really liked the first 10 minutes, but it’s very clearly they left out important details to fit a narrative.

Ok finally sat down and watched this: Look, I am not exactly a cheerleader of John Henry, but you would think the words “Ranger Suarez” or “highest payroll in team history” would have snuck their way into this 16 minute video The idea that the acquisition of Liverpool in 2010

NEW: It's now more lucrative to have a losing sports team than a championship team. We examined the Boston Red Sox to see how private equity and cost cutting invaded sports. In this era, teams want to sell good players for profit more than they want to have a good season.

Brendan Rodgers has re-signed with the Red Sox on a 2-year minor league deal, per @SPChrisHatfield. He was released earlier this week after undergoing shoulder surgery. The injury happened during the first handful of games this spring on 2/25.

@AriA1exander They're facing an All Star LHP with significant splits holding LH batters to an OPS+ of around 60. This is not the time to put him in against a LHP. It'll come.

Not a fan of Marcelo Mayer not getting Opening Day start for platoon advantage. If the guy earned the job, he earned the job for day 1. You can do the platoon stuff later.

@redsoxpayroll @redsoxstats I think it needs to be higher on the top end. Let's say 245 ceiling and 175 on the floor. There's going to have to be revenue sharing to make it doable for all markets. But a floor and ceiling like that will likely put the revenue over 50%.

@redsoxstats Not advocating for anthing here, but pointing out... *IF* a salary cap came in for next year, and you take $13B in revenue / 30 teams * 50% rev split, and you assume a floor is 75-90% of a cap, you get: Cap: $217M Floor: $163M-$195M range 13 would be over ~12-15 would be under
