Now, let’s talk about the draft lottery odds. Instead of giving the top 4 worst records the highest odds, they could make it so that the top 4 best non-playoff teams have a higher chance of getting the pick. So now being competitive all year helps your draft odds.

Use this same system for end-of-season awards. This means all-NBA, all-defense, etc., will be tied directly to conference seeding. Only players on the top 8 teams per conference are eligible. So winning will matter for accolades and future contracts.
