Minister for Health says the following will happen under the Free Primary Health Care Programme
- A person in a community will go to their nearest CHPS compound or health centre or polyclinic.
-They can walk in, or they may be reached through community outreach.
-A health worker may even visit them at home.
-At the facility, they will not only be treated for immediate concerns but also routinely screened for conditions that often go undetected.
-If the condition is simple, it will be managed at that level. If it requires more attention, the patient will be referred to a health centre or polyclinic.
-At the health centre, more services will be available, including basic laboratory tests, maternity care, and minor procedures.
- If further care is needed, the patient will move to the next level. And importantly, after treatment, the patient is referred back to the community level for follow-up and continued care.
-This is a system that is connected, continuous, and people-centered.

@VAdatsi @withAlvin__ A specialist will have to have some work experience before starting fellowship except in peculiar instances. The opportunities and frustrations in further training is why some people dont want to go on

@StephthompsonMD I don't think it's just about doctors. If we want to give good services, then something has to change.

Guess what, it was Kennedy Agyapong who first broke that story on Adom TV. The famous “w’anim sɛ bofrot” video was where the whole issue started.

In 2015 the brother of Ghana’s sitting president imported heavy duty equipment through Tema Port. He issued 44 cheques to pay the customs duties. All 44 bounced. He still walked out with the goods. Not one customs officer stopped him. Ghana Revenue Authority sat on it for two years without collecting a pesewa. The moment his brother lost the election in December 2016 EOCO came knocking. He was ordered to pay GH₵12.7 million within days. 44 bounced cheques. Two years. Zero consequences. One election loss. Suddenly everybody remembered. 💀🇬🇭
