The tragic comedy that is @fordnation and the speed camera ban. Just as @CP24 was reporting that some of the provincial money would go to crossing guards, the news ticket shows that a crossing guard was struck and killed by a motor vehicle driver.

@jillpromoli Safe street design is infrastructure, and school zones should be designed so drivers are unable to operate their vehicles in a manner that puts people at risk. Most of these zones are streets built 100 years ago, so the upgrades are needed.

I've never been fined by ASE, so speed cameras have not been an expense for me. (They're not a tax?) A new provincial fund is now a tax burden for me and all of us who have not been speeding in community safety zones. This *does* raise the cost for responsible drivers. #onpoli

@fordnation Taking the TTC cost $3.35 to take, evading that fare is a $425 fine. Parking in Toronto is $3.50/½hr downtown, evade that fee, and the fine is $40. If the city wanted a cash grab, they would fine illegal parking like they do on transit.

The amount of people still parking on emergency snowroute streets, with the vehicles sticking out into traffic. Is crazy. Probably the same people that complain about bike lanes being the cause of traffic.
