@trevorminer 🚩 if PTO isn’t paid out. No bigger slap to the face than PTO denied then later get lost

@PTPintcast It depends - beauty is in the eye of the beholder
If I accept it as a simple job and just perform specific tasks, it is just a simple job and I along with what I do will not change
I chose a career though..

Is physical therapy a JOB or a CAREER?
Alex Calderon, PT, DPT@alexcalderonDPT
Physical therapy is a job, not a career. Job = you’re trained to do a specific task, and that’s it Career = you’re paid for your results or there’s a path for senior/leadership positions We are a cog in the wheel of our healthcare system

The lipid hypothesis is flawed and incomplete. Not all ‘elevations’ of ApoB carry increased cardiac risk.
If ApoB causes atherosclerosis then why do these recently released results show ZERO difference by CCTA (CT coronary angiography) between a cohort of keto dieters with elevated LDL (average 272 mg/dl for 4.7 years) and an age matched control group from the Miami Heart study with much lower LDL levels (average 123 mg/dl)?

I’m not a fan of ketogenic diets in general, but this is an interesting cohort of people to study and it helps shed light on limitations of the lipid hypothesis.
Here’s my take:
ApoB containing lipoproteins are NOT the major driver of atherosclerosis, and they do NOT cause atherosclerosis. They are involved in the process but do not cause it.
Insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction do. This is because of the ways they impair endothelial repair, efferocytosis (clearance of apoptotic cells), and immune processes involving macrophages in the subendothelial space.
Major hat tip to @realDaveFeldman for being the driving force behind this study.

That’s wild - imaging waiting 5 years to see a specialist
Virginia McIntyre 🇨🇦🇺🇦@Virginia_McI
Have you seen this! NS has longest health care wait times in Canada. We wait 56.7 weeks for access to health care, which is almost double national average. Sadly people living w/ pain wait even longer - 5 years to see #pain specialist @HealthNS halifax.citynews.ca/2023/12/07/nov…

@SBethPTDPT Just be up front that if something doesn’t change the odds are they will continue to decline.. put the ball in their court and then there’s not much else you can do

@SBethPTDPT Yeah I see it all the time too, crazy the number of people who over 55 years old are content with sitting in a chair for 90% of their day
You can’t force someone to do anything and motivational interviewing can only go so far

@SteveHodgsonJr1 Patients....... there is not much motivation in the current environment I work in. Home health... every now and then, but it seems like patients just don't care or want to really do anything lol
