@jpelzer @AnnaStaver 1) An ME once wanted to cut a long Sunday story on a fight over offshore wind power in Cape Cod. (I saw it as a preview to future fights elsewhere.) He took out Walter Cronkite, a part time Cape resident. I complained that I worked hard to get that interview.

I write about complicated topics like taxes and utilities. It often takes hours of interviews before I can explain the issue in a few hundred words.
If I call, it’s because I value your expertise. But stories have word counts, and readers only have so much patience.
