Today I learned this will be my last week working at the paper I grew up reading. Telling the stories of high school athletes all across Western PA has truly been a privilege and a joy. Thank you all for following along for the ride. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did ✌️

After practice wrapped up I caught up with speedy senior wide receiver K-Shawn “K5” Hawkins, who has been making big plays since his freshman year for Westinghouse. Now one of the leaders for the Bulldogs, Hawkins will try to help the House reclaim its throne in the City League:

Man, Meleek Thomas is having his way in the NBA Summer League. He poured in 35 points on 14-of-23 shooting tonight to help the Cavs beat the Heat, this after scoring 20 and 30 his first two games. He now ranks second in the league in scoring.🔥🔥

Franklin Regional's Luke Williams becomes only the 15th player from the WPIAL drafted in the first three rounds out of high school since the draft began in 1965 (h/t @mwhiteburgh). Williams was selected by the Nationals in the third round (No. 78 overall). ⚾️🔥

Congrats to Peters Township grad Jack Natili, who was selected in the third round (No. 76 overall) by the Rockies. He batted .339 with 19 home runs and 65 RBIs at Cincinnati this past season. ⚾️🔥
