@PatAdams96 Turns out, there *ARE* bad ideas in a brainstorm! Also cheating = voting in the constitutionally prescribed manner?

Kamala Harris is now calling for Democrats to hold a “No Bad Idea Brainstorm” where they discuss: - Abolishing the Electoral College - Packing the Supreme Court - Making Puerto Rico and D.C. states “We’ve got to neutralize these red states from cheating!”

@TheBillPost @CiscoForNevada Every state should make it as easy as possible for every eligible voter to cast a ballot. Nevada embraces and embodies that philosophy. Some seem to believe people should have to work hard or suffer to exercise the franchise, but that’s wrong.

@SteveSebelius @CiscoForNevada I love that we have voting options here in Nevada. You can receive a mailed ballot and mail it back or drop off, or you can opt out and vote in person for a few days before election day or like me vote ON election day IN person! Why would any state limit to vote by mail only?

This new ballot tracker from Nevada SecState @CiscoForNevada's office is great: We know how many ballots are out, how many are back, how many are counted and how many need verification. (Remember people SIGN THE *OUTSIDE* OF YOUR MAIL BALLOT ENVELOPE!! nvsos.gov/vivid/

@ChuckMuth @CiscoForNevada He’s still not responsible for the law. He has as much actual power to change state statute as you and I do, since he’s not a member of the legislative branch or the governor.

@SteveSebelius @CiscoForNevada But Cisco defends the law and opposes changing it. If he was concerned about cost or identity theft, he'd push the Legislature to make changes. But he isn't and hasn't.

@ChuckMuth @CiscoForNevada That’s not the fault of the SecState. That was a decision made by the duly elected representatives of the people in the Nevada Legislature and a duly elected governor. It can be changed the same way, but until it is, Cisco must follow the law.

@SteveSebelius @CiscoForNevada Cisco doesn't care about cost. About half of the ballots he automatically mails out - whether voters request them or not - aren't even used. Talk about a waste of money.

@ChuckMuth @CiscoForNevada The signature has to be verified before the enclosed ballot is separated from the envelope to ensure voter anonymity. I suppose the entire thing could be inserted into *another* envelope, although that would add costs.

That's an impressive list of labor backing for @mariafornevada in her race for AD-9: SEIU, Culinary, IBEW Local 357, AFL-CIO, Southern Nevada Central Labor Council and NSEA.

@SteveSebelius Nice take. They didn’t have to flatter Obama. They knew exactly who he was. So did Putin.

@ChuckMuth C'mon, Chuck. that's a fair question! The answer: There will be no -- ahem -- trumped up investigation of the reflecting poll or the ballroom the way there was for the Fed HQ renovations.

There are no stupid questions. Only stupid people with TDS asking stupid questions.
Akayla Gardner@gardnerakayla

I asked @POTUS how the rising price of his ballroom (nearly x2 original estimate) and reflecting pool makeover (x7 original estimate) are any different than why he wanted to remove Fed Chair Jerome Powell for 30% cost overruns. Here’s his response:

@RefriedBrean Who's going to tell them the country was founded on the principles of the Enlightenment, not Christianity? And that Jefferson took great liberties when he claimed we're endowed with rights from our Creator?

@nvelectreform I think that's part of it. The institutional inertia and ennui of the existing system contrasts with younger voters' impatience for change. And who could blame them, really?

@SteveSebelius Could this explain why younger voters (18-34) are totally shunning both major parties? End of Apr: 24% D, 16% R, 53% NP, combined with minor parties 60% not D or R

Like academic politics, the tactics are so vicious because the stakes are so low.
Garrett Tamagni@garrett_tt_

Last night, the Nevada Young Republicans Executive Board voted unanimously to deny the charter for the newly formed Washoe Young Republicans solely because we voted to endorse @SettelmeyerNV and @AdrianaForNV. The Nevada Young Republicans had already endorsed different candidates in those races before the Washoe YRs even existed, without input from Nevada’s second-largest county. An organization dominated by Las Vegas membership is now denying Northern Nevada Republicans representation because we disagreed with their choice for NORTHERN Nevada’s congressional district. Regardless, we will continue building our organization, growing our membership, and working to elect strong conservative leaders this November.
