The idea that @ChristineDrazan “can’t win” because she lost in 2022 ignores the full picture—but I guess it’s a good opposition campaign message for her opponents. Christine Drazan lost by roughly 67,000 votes in 2022. Meanwhile, Betsy Johnson pulled nearly 170,000 votes in a three-way race. Fast forward to today: Oregon is dealing with even higher costs, more homelessness, more addiction, a collapsing downtown Portland economy filled with empty office buildings, and hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars being poured into failed policies while family lives are not getting better. More people than ever feel ignored and completely disenfranchised by Governor Tina Kotek, especially after what she pulled with our successful referendum effort! All she has done is create more harmful policies that ultimately take more money out of OUR pockets. This election will not look like 2022. There’s no major independent candidate expected to split the vote this time, and there are still hundreds of thousands of frustrated voters who sat out the last election entirely. The American Dream is dying in Oregon under Tina Kotek, and pretending voters are happier today than they were four years ago is completely disconnected from reality.
