one time i met up with a tpot guy like 3 months after i got on twitter. we talked about a bunch of the main tpot memes and then several hours in he mentioned something and i was like “oh i wasn’t on twitter when that happened, i just joined a few months ago.” he was like “wait wtf?? how do you know about all of this stuff then?” and i was like “idk there aren’t actually that many ideas? it’s not hard to pick up.” and he looked kinda shaken up, like maybe his identity was in question. anyway i think about this fairly often. i wonder how many ppl have entire identities built up around certain types of knowledge or experiences that are not actually that unique or hard to acquire.
