@locust9 it's also different authors and types of games so I don't even understand the comparison

what is actually interesting here is to ask why people are offended that a lower reviewed game can sell massive numbers. Hollywood is full of mid reviewed movies that were blockbusters and the outrage isn’t there. You can love pizza and beer and it doesn’t need to be 10/10.

IGN is just a joke at this point. They gave the industry plant Mixtape a 10 but Subnautica 2, the most wishlisted game on Steam, a 7. I think they're laughing and baiting us. There's no serious journalism nowadays.

The sudden move to cut a deployment of 4,200 troops to Poland came as some of the unit had already arrived in Europe. - it also comes as the Army has seemingly run out of money. abcnews.com/Politics/penta…

National media loves to treat local reporters like the minor leagues. Network panels argue about ‘the national mood’ for 3 hours and still tell you less than the local reporter who’s covered the same town for 15 years. Big difference between being famous and being informed.
Max Tani@maxwelltani

if you can't handle local tv, how are you going to be able to handle national media, much of which has an interest in pushing/pursuing narratives about how terrible you/your state are?

Crazy showing by the Irish (who have excelled at this category for the last few years) who are basically borrowing a Bradley for this competition. Also whatever the Big Red One is up to…oof

discourse about this game is getting a little spicy, but I think people are overthinking it. It's a 4hr $18 game for people who like story games. I don't like survival games but you don't see me talking about that all day on here.

MIXTAPE is short & supremely sweet. Distinctly 90s w/o overloading on nostalgia. A coming-of-age story that's bittersweet & charming- not contrived or sad. Only a few hrs long but it genuinely made me feel something. I love these scuzzy 7-11 kids. Real. Also it included one of my favorite songs so I may be biased lol

We spent a month investigating ICE — the DoD's official feedback system. The federal government has potentially spent $130M+ on it. The most recent contract had one bidder. Every rated dining facility returns a perfect satisfaction score. Every single one. Here's what we found: ICE catalogued 500 dining facilities across 101 installations. Every facility that received any feedback in the Jan 7, 2026 – Apr 7, 2026 window returned a 100% satisfaction score. The platform has operated under the same vendor for over 13 consecutive years. The current IDIQ — awarded with one bid — carries a $145M ceiling and runs through early 2027. ICE's barracks data is a single undifferentiated national pool (provider sp=148877). No per-installation breakdown exists in the public record. Fort Bragg and Fort Wainwright submit to the same bucket. A two-person bootstrapped app produced 624 barracks reviews across 65 named installations and 721 DFAC reviews with facility-specific star ratings — without a federal contract, a kiosk network, or a decade of DoD mandates.

Denim Day is an international event based on a 90s rape case in which an Italian court claimed the woman was wearing tight jeans, so she must have given consent. In January, Army HQ said soldiers could participate. I asked Ft Riley why soldiers were told they couldn't. 1ID said:

Hegseth was asked about the four Army colonels whom he blocked from being promoted to one-star general. He said that he anticipated "other officers will be removed also," without offering a rationale. Promotions lists at that level are highly vetted.
