@StevenCater @WestHamViews_ @JacobSteinberg OK, I stand corrected. But he still got promotion. Took you to 7th in the PL which is a far cry from where Wolves are now. He has so much experience within English football. I'm not saying he's perfect but for WHU situation I cannot see better.

BREAKING: There has been a shift overnight as it's believed some of West Ham's hierarchy want Nuno to STAY!
A final decision is still expected to be made over the next couple days.

Seeing @Wolves relegated to the Championship is hard to watch, but it also takes me back to the incredible feeling of lifting that Championship title in 2009
Under Mick McCarthy’s management, we had such a strong, talented group and gave everything for the shirt

English

@tyrone_forest @WestHamViews_ @JacobSteinberg Wouldn't say modest budget. We broke our record and had players from Porto left right and centre
English

@WestHamViews_ @JacobSteinberg Sensible decision keeping Nuno. Took Wolves and us (Forest) to 7th in the table having not spent much. Got Wolves promoted from the Championship at the time with a very modest budget. He's inherited a weak squad and still got results. Stability makes a huge difference.

@TomBolton04 @IronsWatch @JacobSteinberg Me personally can't see him going back to the championship so I think something is holding up the inevitable
English

@StevenCater @IronsWatch @JacobSteinberg there’s a clause in his contract that he doesn’t get compensation if we are relegated
English

A bit of a shift in the mood overnight, with some on West Ham’s board wanting Nuno to stay. Situation still to be resolved in next day or two.
Jacob Steinberg@JacobSteinberg
theguardian.com/football/2026/… Scott Parker and Gary O’Neil potential candidates to replace Nuno
English

@TomBolton04 @IronsWatch @JacobSteinberg Yeah I see. Just wondered if anything effected it depending on who instigates it. You never know now a days. Nuno is a clever guy
English

@IronsWatch @JacobSteinberg Reading between the lines there could be due to payout? If Nuno walked none maybe? So they aren't sacking him maybe? Just guessing lol
English

@JacobSteinberg That’s all well and good but does Nuno want to stay? Doesn’t his agent think he’s top 10 managers in the world or something?
English

@JacobsBen @Lawton_Times Why everyone reporting the sack when it was common knowledge they both had a clause from relegation?
English

Nuno Espírito Santo facing the sack following West Ham’s relegation.
Board meeting this morning to discuss his future, as @Lawton_Times called. Sources say a departure is likely.⚒️

English

@eyesonWHU They finished on 39 points though. Numerous wins with him. Someone had to go.
English

Nuno failed at West Ham. There’s no doubt about it.
He’s been given a free ride by fans who were seemingly just happy to see the back of Graham Potter.
Some of his team selections were nothing short of abysmal: Andy Irving starting over Mateus Fernandes, left-backs at right-back, right-backs at left-back, the 5atb system against Newcastle. The list goes on.
When people look at why West Ham went down, he should carry far more responsibility than he currently seems to.
English

@Hallybhoy11 Well first. You'd need abit of sun 🤣 pissing it down
English

@SaintsExtra Irony is the saints spy already knows what happened in it
English

That's the whole point though.
It's not fair enough 🤣
Unfair enough
Hull City Kits (Les)@HullCityKits
I don't want to be automatically promoted because another team cheated and lawyers got involved. I want to go to Wembley and win, and if we don't win then fair enough, but I don't want an asterisk promotion.
English

@SouthamptonFC But the other side is why should you compete for the 200 mil prize and others shouldn't?
English

@SaintsExtra No sporting advantage. Brother you went from 20th to 3rd in a few months 🤣
English

🚨 #SaintsFC sources felt the Spygate hearing should have taken place after the play-off final, rather than being expedited by the EFL. They thought there were too many rules that had no defined sanctions, which left too much open to interpretation, and if the rules had been clearer, the incident would have been resolved more speedily.
They also pointed out that Southampton put in one of their worst performances in recent months against Middlesbrough in the first leg, which suggested that no sporting advantage had been gained.

@mattletiss7 But then the other side of the argument is matt. If it's let's say a fine then the punishment is worth taking.
Doesn't make sense. Whatever happens it's just a complete farce.

Our play-off final against Middlesbrough at Wembley on Saturday 23 May will now kick-off at 3:30pm.
Should the outcome of the ongoing appeal process result in Southampton contesting the final against the Tigers, kick-off will revert to 4:30pm.
Supporters who have successfully purchased tickets will receive their digital match tickets once the club are permitted to send.
The club remains in regular dialogue with all relevant stakeholders and will communicate further details, including ticket release and Tiger Travel information, once final confirmation of the fixture has been received.
We would like to thank our supporters for their continued understanding and patience. We cannot wait to see a sea of black and amber under the arch this weekend.

@WHUFC_News Wolves away. Ought to be relegated for that alone.
English

All I can think about right now is the following:
- Bournemouth away. 2-0 up and drew 2-2.
- Brighton away. Rutter 91st minute equaliser.
- Fulham at home. Scarles misses the ball and lose in the 85th minute.
- Forest at home. 1-0 up and lose 2-1 due to two poor VAR decisions.
- Chelsea away. 2-0 up at half time and lose 3-2.
- United at home. Sesko 96th minute equaliser.

English

@R_o_M He's pissed they didn't get him the title to leave on. Failed without KDB simple as that
