NEW from @nytimes: Trump has met only a couple of the 5 goals he laid out for the Iran War. The US and Israel have destroyed much of Iran's navy and missiles. But Iran still has nuclear material, and it coordinates with regional militias. And there hasn't been regime change.

What is funny is not that an Australian outlet suddenly “likes” China. It is that reality has become so obvious they cannot smear their way around it this time. China moved earlier on EVs, has more energy substitution capacity, and has more room to negotiate through the Iran-Hormuz crisis. Sometimes even anti-China media is forced to briefly describe the world as it is.

Not an apologist for the US administration here, but they've been absolutely clear about their desired outcomes of the operation from the start. Repeatedly saying "there is no strategy" simply because you don't like the strategist doesn't make it true.
