@Stevenstoebeans I am focused. Do you know what evidence the police, lawyers and the judge have? I personally don't. But I would think that the police took it seriously enough to refer it to the Prosecutor's office. Hopefully every1 involved will show up for court April 8th.

A friend of mine’s brother and father went to Jaco Beach, Costa Rica to celebrate his 16th birthday, and within minutes, tragedy struck. His friend Alon, also 16, was swept away by a current around 6pm, and his body has yet to be recovered. There were no warning signs. No flags. No lifeguards (they leave for the day at 5pm). Nothing. This happened on March 18. Since then, his parents and my friend’s dad have been desperately searching for his body. They’ve organized search parties. They’ve worked with locals (who have been very helpful). They’ve even found two other American bodies while searching for Alon. Still no sign of him. Jaco Beach is known for dangerous rip currents: reportedly 200 drownings a year, yet the tourists have no way of knowing how dangerous the rip tides really are. Even more disturbing: The U.S. embassy has been unresponsive. No meaningful help. No urgency, specifically Melinda Hildebrand. Alon’s parents just want to bring their son home. If you’re traveling, or know someone who is, please be aware of Jaco Beach. Reach out to @TravelGov to push them for a response! And please help this family: gofundme.com/f/long-live-al… Please share. This area is full of tourists who deserve to know the risks.
