Is Johnny Somali going to change because of his sentencing? I explained it bluntly on @SideScrollerPod Johnny Somali is NOT gonna learn anything from this six-month sentence. Absolutely not. That’s why the punishment has to be harsher. The harsher the better. He needs to feel the full brunt of the consequences. Everyone in my comment sections, all Koreans everywhere, are saying the same thing: six months is not enough. He should get the maximum sentence which is at least three years. This isn’t just about Johnny. It’s a message to every nuisance IRL streamer out there. Maybe stop being such an ass for views. I very deeply despise IRL nuisance streamers. I’m a Christian, I love all people… but they’re just the absolute worst. One good thing came out of it though: Johnny Somali brought together the entire internet and the entire world in a rare moment of peace and harmony. Left, right, young, old, every background and political view, everyone agreed: yes, he’s going to jail and he’s gonna do hard labor. The principle of “what goes around comes around” is undefeated. It was a great day.

Honestly it’s fair. Yes he’s the most annoying piece of shit on the internet. But 3 years for basically just being a drunk nuisance is way too excessive. He’s probably going to refuse to do any labor at all and just be stuck in solitary confinement being an annoying little shit to all the guards and inmates in his cell block. It’s better for Korea to punish him and kick him the fuck out. He will eventually learn whe he fucks with the wrong person in America when he comes back. Sex offender registration is pointless if he’s getting deported anyway.

Covering the Johnny Somali trial from first hearing to sentencing has been an educational and wild experience, big thanks to all the members of the Somali Conviction Team who came through to get jail time to happen. While I’m happy we proved Johnny Somali wrong when he said “I promise you I won’t get one day in jail” - we all feel that 6 months with labor, 20 days additional detention, is too light. At least 2 years, if not the prosecutors recommendation of 3 would be more appropriate. Let’s hope the prosecutor appeals
