America. What the hell happened to us? Canada 🇨🇦 is fighting enormous #wildfires. Firefighters are risking their lives. Families are evacuating. Communities are watching the horizon and wondering whether they’ll still have homes tomorrow. And a depressing number of Americans demand that #Canada somehow “control” millions of acres of burning wilderness. The president threatens tariffs… I’m not that old but I still remember a time when this country used to send help when people were in danger. Canada is our closest neighbor, one of our oldest allies, and one of the first countries to show up when Americans need help. The common sense response is compassion, cooperation, and every available firefighting resource we can spare. Helping allies shouldn’t be controversial. Wake the hell up, #USA, and stop acting like petulant children.

The US National Weather Service Spokane shared this satellite image showing active U.S. wildfires. Driven by mid-to-upper level winds, this massive smoke highway is tracking straight north, blanketing eastern Washington and northern Idaho before invading southern British Columbia. It completely flips Trump’s bizarre rants about punishing Canada. Turns out the atmosphere flows both ways.

Authorities allege that the case involves an international extortion network, with the arrest marking a significant development in the investigation. Hopefully US authorities will take this investigation to the top brass sitting in New Delhi.
