Professor Andrew Forbes (@Lord_Forbington), PhD, has been awarded an NSF grant titled, “How do gall-forming insects escape diverse and evolving clades of parasitic wasps - and how do parasites catch up?”! 🎉 The grant is for 4 years in the amount of $898,359.

Happy to release Stacks v2.67 today. This release updates process_radtags to make it easier to use SRA data and to filter poly-G (error) runs coming from Nextseq/Novaseq machines + bugfixes. We also added a genotype depth filter to populations #RADseq catchenlab.life.illinois.edu/stacks/

Interesting: I posted about research associates and post-doc positions and got 25 applications the same day. I post about a scientist I position paying better, and get 1. There is no judgement here, it’s just remarkable - I would assume a lot more interest.

@jdpereira I'm transitioning from NTTF back to TTF and I can say the biggest struggle as an NTTF was being soft-money funded and having constant uncertainty. You clarified in your later tweets about this being a permanent position, but maybe lost people from not having it in the original?
