I really wish restaurants and shops opened later in Dublin, especially in the summer with the long evenings. It was bright at 10PM yesterday and yet every single one of the restaurants in my area was closed. When I was in Paris a few months ago we went out for dinner after 10PM and there was an abundance of choice, yet in our capital city you wouldn’t find a place.

The GOAT debate was settled by performances on the biggest stages, against the biggest opponents, under the biggest pressure. That's where Messi separates himself. World Cup finals, Champions League finals, Copa América finals — those are the moments that define legends. Messi has spent years making extraordinary performances look normal. Ronaldo fans have spent years turning ordinary moments into extraordinary celebrations. Messi remains the benchmark. Messi remains the standard. And for me, Messi remains the greatest footballer the game has ever seen."

We have plenty of rain to come between Thursday and Monday with some heavy falls possible Wednesday night and Saturday night. Over 30mm is possible for many areas between now and Monday morning with over 50mm in a few spots. My son is 3. He has a best friend named Marcus from daycare. Marcus's dad and I nod at each other during pickup. That's our whole relationship. Last Wednesday he texts me: "Marcus won't stop asking about Eli. Saturday work?" I say sure. He picks Eli up at 10. By 11 I'm on the couch. Not doing anything. Just. Sitting. I didn't know I missed sitting. Noon I eat a full meal. Hot. At the table. No one grabbed anything off my plate. 2pm my wife asks what I want to do. I didn't have an answer. I forgot I got to have one. Marcus's dad texts at 5: "They're good. Eating now." Cool. Great. Perfect. 7:45 he calls. "Marcus is losing his mind about Eli leaving. Sleepover?" I said yes so fast I scared myself. Drove home. Stopped for gas I didn't need. Just stood outside in the parking lot for a minute. Went inside. Told my wife. She had already opened a bottle of wine. We watched two full movies. Nobody woke us up at 6am. I laid in bed until 8:47 just because I could. Marcus's dad drops Eli off Sunday. Eli walks in, looks at me once, and goes straight to his toys. Didn't ask where I'd been. Didn't care. Bro same.

Why do people reverse into parking spaces? At first it was one or two misdirected fools, now it's spreading like a disease. It makes no sense. You are only making it so much harder for yourself, and everyone hates you as you block the road trying to get into the space.

If WWE ever wanted to dismiss the notion that their booking is stagnant, they should have had Jacob Fatu win last night. What interesting concept of Roman Reigns having to serve Jacob and be Champion. This would have actually added a compelling element to the Bloodline story arc, since WWE HAS to revisit it. Instead they go with tired old tropes and lazy booking if MFTs vs Bloodline. Just coasting to the next PLE. Give us excitement. Give us unpredictably. It’s sorely lacking right now.
