I have Bipolar Disorder. I've also had two very successful careers & helped raise an amazing son. I'm financially secure, not a criminal & have a great group of friends. I'm fitter than Garson could ever be & am a better person to boot. You may be a victim. I'm not, wanker.

Do people find it useful to be diagnosed with bipolar disorder or do you just feel labelled and stigmatised?

@sophiebip1982 My feelings are the same as yours. A diagnosis isn't what's stigmatising, it's how people with that diagnosis are treated by others

Ah yes, Tolkien, who wrote The Lord of the Rings, which has sold over 150 million copies, and The Hobbit which has sold another 100 million (ranking them 2nd and 3rd respectively in top-selling novels of all time), who created over 14 distinct languages and alphabets for Middle-earth before writing his novels, who was fluent in Danish, Dutch, French, German, Gothic, Greek, Italian, Latin, Lombardic, Middle/Old English, Old Norse, Norwegian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, and Welsh, who, while serving in WWI, developed a secret code to update his wife about his location to bypass British army mail censorship, who was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature….. Yes, surely, he is a weak thinker.

@eyebaws1 @DrJosefWD You don't know about me. Because that last strawman quote is not something I would consider force. I've been threatened with losing housing and school, as well as other punishments, if I didn't take a certain medication. Not all force and coercion requires physical force.

I said psychiatric meds should be investigated in mass killings and doctors came for me. None of them addressed the evidence. Homicidal ideation is in Abilify's label. Aggression is in Strattera's. I wrote that Strattera language myself at the FDA. Tennessee just passed a law to investigate this. Bipartisan. By a landslide. They're right.

Perhaps the issue here is that you losers have your heads shoved so far up your own arses that you can't even conceive anything beyond your own experiences. It's common with anti-psychs

@DrAnnieHickox @StigmaB47868 @NickTaber This is not to say all of psychiatry is evil or that it doesn't save lives. Just as we don't generalize all of psychiatry because of these cases, we shouldn't generalize all of "anti-psychiatry" for them either.

@StigmaB47868 @NickTaber I said I don't agree with everything he posts and found that they were kind of redundant, but that doesn't make him abusive. Justin Garson doesn't even know who you are. Of course he wouldn't call you that. All his criticisms are of the system.

@StigmaB47868 @Phuxlea @NickTaber My friends (and my relative) who died were in their 20s, and yes it was a long time ago (I’m old, apparently) but the wounds are still raw, as I’m sure yours are. And yet we still see the same dangerous misinformation and scaremongering being spread in 2026.

@StigmaB47868 @NickTaber You are shifting the focus from the institutions and diverting it to "anti-psychs" who are simply people who ask questions about labels. The institutions are far more responsible for deaths, injuries, and mental health issues than the survivors who speak out.
