@sophiebip1982 My feelings are the same as yours.
A diagnosis isn't what's stigmatising, it's how people with that diagnosis are treated by others
English

@JRBneuropsiq To equate mania with "being excited" is just stupid, stupid bollocks.
That's like saying you've experienced lung cancer if you've had a cough.
English

@StigmaB47868 One of the silliest arguments. Typical of people who lack minimal clinical experience
English

@Isabelletkrause Weak thinkers believe everything is about some god or another.
English

Ah yes, Tolkien, who wrote The Lord of the Rings, which has sold over 150 million copies, and The Hobbit which has sold another 100 million (ranking them 2nd and 3rd respectively in top-selling novels of all time), who created over 14 distinct languages and alphabets for Middle-earth before writing his novels, who was fluent in Danish, Dutch, French, German, Gothic, Greek, Italian, Latin, Lombardic, Middle/Old English, Old Norse, Norwegian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, and Welsh, who, while serving in WWI, developed a secret code to update his wife about his location to bypass British army mail censorship, who was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature…..
Yes, surely, he is a weak thinker.
Alex Leone@AlexToropoc
@Isabelletkrause Tolkien is a weak thinker because he doesn't make room for redemption, thus, he is not a Christian. Look at Gollum - he sins, destroys his life, but where is the redemption, the need for god's absolution? None. A great thinker would've made Gollum the hero, to redeem himself.

@Phuxlea @eyebaws1 @DrJosefWD This one thinks it logical that if a med is ever forced on anyone, then it can't ever be an effective med.
I mean, you're a pain in the arse... but she's a few tinnies short of a 6 pack.
English

@eyebaws1 @DrJosefWD You don't know about me. Because that last strawman quote is not something I would consider force. I've been threatened with losing housing and school, as well as other punishments, if I didn't take a certain medication. Not all force and coercion requires physical force.
English

I said psychiatric meds should be investigated in mass killings and doctors came for me.
None of them addressed the evidence.
Homicidal ideation is in Abilify's label. Aggression is in Strattera's. I wrote that Strattera language myself at the FDA.
Tennessee just passed a law to investigate this. Bipartisan. By a landslide. They're right.

English

@Phuxlea @DrAnnieHickox @NickTaber Garson didn't believe me about my fitness & lifestyle. One photo shut him up pretty quickly.
Perhaps the issue here is that you losers have your heads shoved so far up your own arses that you can't even conceive anything beyond your own experiences. It's common with anti-psychs
English

@Phuxlea @DrAnnieHickox @NickTaber "opportunity for spiritual growth" was his parents go-to line. Same line Garson peddles.
English

@Phuxlea @DrAnnieHickox @NickTaber I'm not generalising here. Garson uses the exact same lines as the people who killed my dear friend.
Same lines, same stigma, same patient blaming, same 'solutions'.
English

@DrAnnieHickox @StigmaB47868 @NickTaber This is not to say all of psychiatry is evil or that it doesn't save lives. Just as we don't generalize all of psychiatry because of these cases, we shouldn't generalize all of "anti-psychiatry" for them either.
English

@Phuxlea @NickTaber I've just realised that it's not only his posts, he's systematically removed any comment interactions he had with me.
Common mate. Open your eyes. Honestly.
He doesn't know "who" I am, but he's taking notice of what I'm saying.
English

@StigmaB47868 @NickTaber I said I don't agree with everything he posts and found that they were kind of redundant, but that doesn't make him abusive.
Justin Garson doesn't even know who you are. Of course he wouldn't call you that. All his criticisms are of the system.
English

@StigmaB47868 @Phuxlea @NickTaber My friends (and my relative) who died were in their 20s, and yes it was a long time ago (I’m old, apparently) but the wounds are still raw, as I’m sure yours are.
And yet we still see the same dangerous misinformation and scaremongering being spread in 2026.
English

@BTP52 @rovingchloe "It is false and offensive to misattribute critics of psychiatry with adding stigma"
What's offensive is your wilful ignorance.

English

Hard to describe how utterly misguided this. Just read the literature on stigma and mental health.
Stigma Buster@StigmaB47868
People misunderstand stigma. A diagnosis is not stigmatising. Stigma stems from how people with that diagnosis are treated by others. When anti-psychs claim 'stigma!', they are really saying 'Having a MI is shameful'. Hence, they are the ones perpetuating stigma.
English

@StigmaB47868 @NickTaber You are shifting the focus from the institutions and diverting it to "anti-psychs" who are simply people who ask questions about labels. The institutions are far more responsible for deaths, injuries, and mental health issues than the survivors who speak out.
English

@Phuxlea @DrAnnieHickox @NickTaber It was. I never said it was Garson's fault. I'm saying that he peddles the same lines that killed my friend.
English

@DrAnnieHickox @StigmaB47868 @NickTaber "anti-psychiatry" does not kill people. That one case of Lisa McPherson was a disturbing tragedy yet it was over 31 years ago.
Psychiatric practices have killed more people in recent years.

English

@Phuxlea @NickTaber Funny then that the same day he removed those abusive, harmful, stigmatising posts, he also blocked me. That's not a coincidence.
& as always, you have ZERO FUCKING SAY in regards to how people with MI feel about what he says. Zero. Stay in your lane, child.
English

@Phuxlea @NickTaber You know full well that Garson absolutely said ALL of those things. Every single one. They weren't at me personally, they were directed at anyone with MI, which is much, much worse.
English
