Boys aren't raised to be men. They're raised to not be girls. That's actually the root of so much misogyny. Society doesn't teach boys empathy, emotional honesty, or respect for women as equals, it teaches them to suppress vulnerability, dominate,and fear anything "feminine." They're rewarded for aggression and punished for kindness. And when adulthood hits,these habits don't just vanish, they manifest as entitlement, objectification, and sexism.

nobody talks about how exhausting it is trying to heal, make money, be a good person, stay attractive, stay positive, and not crash out.

@NoFilterSkin Agree IF that’s all he is doing. Working, or having two jobs, is a sacrifice b/c he’s not making the money for his own self (it’s also his God given responsibility). However it does not absolve him of his other duties of being an active father and husband

Gentle reminder that a man who goes to work "to provide for his family" isn't actually sacrificing anything and would still need a job even if he didn't have a family.

I don’t think people realise how many “functioning” suicidal people they’ve met, people still go to work, still joke, still pay bills. The human mind is capable of hiding extraordinary pain.
