@dyingscribe Bookmarked cause the way its set up right now - its much easier to kill him off than have two separate arcs of them getting together and then setting up a depressing conclusion.

@SocialNomadRach I firnly believe this was done to make Boruto be a Gary stu in his sequel. The original manga ended off with Boruto painting the Hokages faces and the real Naruto jumping in to give him a lecture despite it making him late for the Gokage Summit.

Sasuke not having the conviction to kill his best friend and Naruto being petty and scratching Sasuke’s headband instead of using the nuke in his hand to blow him up is some of the best writing of children in adult conflicts only rivaled by Tsuguri’s “I’m only 17.”

@dyingscribe But like its a battle of the supports. Not much drama to be had. And it just now struck me, two of the beefiest men in the series never actually use their physicality as much of an advantage in a series with a ton of throwing hands

@Critical_Scribe You're an exception, but the types of people who talk about men with "healthy masculine traits" to counteract the manosphere roll out some of the most whipped men as examples.

Because young men are starved so much for masculine role models that they will cling to any semblance of that, even if it’s from idiots like Tate and the bloviating nonsense from these “Manosphere” types. You could easily counter this by promoting people who exhibit healthy masculine traits (like Luke from Outdoor Boys) and having healthy examples of masculinity in media, but the current hierarchy doesn’t wish to do that because it views ALL masculinity as toxic, so these guys are able to get their claws into men who feel ignored and unwanted. The hubris of modern mentality is the only thing stopping society from relegating these types of opportunists to the dregs where they belong, but humble pie is extremely bitter and everyone wants to continue eating the sugar of their own lies.
spiked@spikedonline

Louis Theroux’s ‘Inside the Manosphere’ fails to ask *why* so many young men feel they’re being pushed towards the Andrew Tate types. It has nothing to say to young men, other than to chastise them or psychologise them. How disappointing, says Adam Chapman buff.ly/EnI7jjy

Just saw a video of an Asian dad put a loaded gun down in front of his depressed son, and daring him to shoot himself Bro immediately boomed himself and then the first thing that dad did was slap him on the head And then mom and dad started freaking out

@dyingscribe Ngl, if i somehow lived after the first shot and i felt the slap, I'd shoot myself again and make that count Also low impulse control for the kid too? Nah, he must have dreaming of that moment for a while

Imagine giving your son tough love after he already popped himself and then realizing you just slapped your dead son Like no hesitation As soon as he saw the gun, boom dad didn’t waste a second in slapping him either Whole family with low impulse control

@wanderjegson 'Pochita would always enable Denji's worst tendencies' seems to be a recurring theme He abandoned Nayuta to be Csm, he gets manipulated by everyone and he constantly has to make world shattering choices Now he gets to be an average loser who daydreams of menial things.

Maybe the ending isn't bad and i'm just a stupid person who can't understand anything like themes and such, but from my feelings from reading this series, it just felt like it was a waste of time.

@wanderjegson The absence of Aki means he still lives with his family and never got mind controlled by Makima. I am content with that alone.

@StillBurnt1 @PaperOri48 @dyingscribe I thought of that as well. Doesn't change the fact that the mechs are obviously moving fast enough to catch him by surprise.....The show writers did not "portray him badly", You guys just have nostalgia fueled giga-autism mixed with all or nothing thinking (the bad kind of 'tism)

@PaperOri48 @dyingscribe Who the fuck says they're slow? You really think these people are always moving at speeds a normal person can perceive? How are you certain they weren't moving too fast for him to keep up? Shit has to be slowed down so the audience can actually know what the hell is going on.

@CorenLaVolpe Eh, even the manga has amazing fight choreography and is more dynamic than Jojo's when its at its highs As for characters...the only thing JJK has going for it are its middle-aged salary men who even come close to any jojo cast
