@MariannaReports @_fat_ugly_rat_ Pulido is play 4D chess. There’s min 200 adult voters at your avg quinceañera. 4-6 appearances a weekend = racking up thousands of votes per month.

GOP Rep De La Cruz described Pulido - a Dem Tejano music superstar - as a has been. The attack seems to have backfired. I’m told from a campaign spox he has received nearly 1k invitations to quinceañeras since posting this, which creates a unique campaigning opportunity in TX15
Bobby Pulido for Texas@PulidoForTexas

My opponent said I only belong playing at quinceañeras. I’ll take that as a compliment. Quinceañeras are about family, tradition, and community. That’s exactly what this campaign is about. Got one coming up in District 15? Send us a DM. I’d be honored to stop by.

@mcuban @jamestalarico Interesting theory. We’re exhausted Mark. Don’t give Zuck and Elon any ideas though, they’re surely rework the algos.

Apparently @jamestalarico won with a huge turnout from young adults. Want to know why? Here is my guess: On social media, the algorithms give you more of what you consume. Talarico’s messages are positive. To the point of being “syrupy”. Voters that committed to watching his social posts, got more of not only his posts, but also other positive messages. Contrast that with historically negative messaging across past elections, and I think the contrast was striking and motivational for many. Enough to draw record numbers to a primary. It may be crazy to some, but the idea of “my feed and FYP got better the more I watched his videos” is enough to get voters excited to support and vote for him. Call it “PositivityMaxxing” 😂. But I truly believe that candidates that can give positive messages, authentically and confidently , can be part of a new successful trend. Regardless of party or office. Thoughts ?

@Stingertail Also add for Crockett: Thowing her hat in the literal last minute. No campaign manager, lack of organization and no consistent messaging. Not to mention “slave mentality” comments towards Latinos, and using race/identity to leverage attacks towards her opponent.

@TheDarkO1ne The winner needs >50% of the vote. The 3rd candidate, Ahmad Hassan, is only commanding 1.3% of reported vote. That puts an even split for Crockett and Talarico at 49.35% if she can find the votes. That is very unlikely at this point as Talarico leads by ~140k.

Count all the Dallas County votes. Period. Ultimately, the margin still looks too wide for Jasmine Crockett to win. Election Day votes will be less than half of already reported early voting, and she needed at least 70% of Dallas to overcome statewide shortfalls at this point.

Jasmine Crockett is a fighter. But she has a self-obsession problem. It’s giving narcissism, dare I say Trumpian, vibes when she tells her base the election is rigged against her. This will only hurt the Senate race in November. Concede honorably when this is final.

.@JamesTalarico needs to make a statement tonight. That needs to be 1) Count all votes, 2) He Accepts final outcome depending on final count, 3) Dems need to rally and win Senate seat. No victory laps until votes are final. But in all certainty, he has won. Phenomenal campaign.

Reasons why Talarico won: -Staunch progressive -Wields scripture to point out conservative hypocrisy -Gets voters to cross aisle Why Crockett lost: -Dem voters tired of strongman politics -Corporate/AIPAC ties -Relied on legacy Dem / celebrity endorsements (Kamala, Cardi B)

I'm actually pretty open-minded about the anti-data-center populism. From everything I've seen from people working on this, reducing industrial-scale hardware availability seems to be both the most practical, and most non-dystopian / non-invasive way to lengthen AGI timelines. So if the movement that makes that happen starts out with anti-data-center populism, that seems fine? Of course you have to do things other than going after data centers located in populated areas to really make a dent on AGI timelines (my intuition is that 10-100x compute reduction is feasible in a "static" model of the world, and 100-10000x if you compare to a counterfactual that includes future chip design progress; those numbers *would* make a dent), but there is a first step for everything.
