One of the best ways to reinforce NASA’s mission-first culture is to free the best and brightest from needless bureaucracy and obstacles that slow progress, so they can focus on science and discovery as quickly and affordably as possible without compromising safety. My advisors (or “team”) and I have established inboxes we will monitor ourselves and encouraged their use to bypass unnecessary filters. My roadshow to every NASA center, which kicked off Friday, gives me the opportunity to spend time with those in the trenches and listen closely to our industry and international partners. I will do everything I can to remove blockers, empower the workforce, and ensure sustained American leadership in the high ground of space.

At NASA, we take to the skies for training, cutting-edge flight test programs, to send our astronauts to space, and to inspire the next generation to look up and imagine what is possible. Today, we had the opportunity to fly @LaraLeaTrump and @EricTrump over NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, and to show them where history is being made on the ground, including a visit to the Vehicle Assembly Building and the Artemis II rocket that will send NASA astronauts farther into space than ever before. We were honored to host you where America reaches for the stars.

Well it is official now.. I want to again express my sincere appreciation to President Donald J. Trump @POTUS for nominating me to lead NASA, and to the United States Senate--and Chairman Cruz @tedcruz - for their diligence and fairness throughout the confirmation process. I am grateful to Secretary Duffy @SecDuffy for his leadership as Acting Administrator during this transition, and to my wife Monica, my family, my friend Senator Sheehy @TimSheehyMT and everyone who offered their support along the way. As I step into this role, I make these personal commitments: – Mission: I will champion the bold objectives of human space exploration, scientific discovery, and a thriving orbital economy that ensures America’s leadership in space. We will never again give up our capabilities to reach for the stars, and we will never settle for second place. – Integrity: I will serve responsibly, transparently, and without personal gain, covering every cost I am legally permitted to, and fully adhering to my ethics agreement. My loyalty is to my country, my President, and the space agency that has inspired me since I was a child. – Urgency: I will intensely focus the agency on achieving the near-impossible, the very reason NASA was established in the first place. We will eliminate the bureaucracy that impedes progress and empower the best and brightest to take ownership, move quickly, accept smart risks, and act with a relentless focus on mission success. – Inspiration: Every launch, every scientific breakthrough must inspire the next generation to dream bigger, to reach higher, and believe that anything is possible. In addition to my existing philanthropic efforts, I will donate my salary as Administrator to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Space Camp to help prepare the pioneers of tomorrow. I am humbled by this opportunity, proud to serve, and ready to work alongside the most talented minds in America as we continue the greatest adventure in human history. 🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED: This is Liv Perrotto — an incredible little girl with cancer who’s just been given six months to live Doctors are attempting to throw in the towel. But she’s REFUSING to quit. Liv’s trying to get her case in front of @drpatrick ASAP, and @US_FDA MUST approve her to start Anktiva, a potentially lifesaving treatment, IMMEDIATELY. This is Liv’s LAST HOPE, SO PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE! And if anyone can have Dr. Soon-Shiong reach out, that would be tremendous. Red tape is getting in the way, as FDA is currently BLOCKING minors from receiving this treatment, so this might even require @SecKennedy to step in. Liv is such a brave fighter. I genuinely don’t know how she does it. I’ve gotten to know Liv and her family over the past few months. They’ve tried absolutely everything, cross-crossing the country trying various treatments. No luck. From Liv’s mom @rebeccaperrotto: “We tried an immunotherapy trial in Seattle and that was unsuccessful. We have been at this since March 2021. Her cancer is everywhere now. It recently spread to leptomeningeal. We are doing ten radiation treatments to help her side effects. But not to cure.” Liv refuses to give up, and I refuse to give up on Liv. Any help, prayers, or shares is appreciated 🙏🏻

Thank you, Mr. President @POTUS, for this opportunity. It will be an honor to serve my country under your leadership. I am also very grateful to @SecDuffy, who skillfully oversees @NASA alongside his many other responsibilities. The support from the space-loving community has been overwhelming. I am not sure how I earned the trust of so many, but I will do everything I can to live up to those expectations. To the innovators building the orbital economy, to the scientists pursuing breakthrough discoveries and to dreamers across the world eager for a return to the Moon and the grand journey beyond--these are the most exciting times since the dawn of the space age-- and I truly believe the future we have all been waiting for will soon become reality. And to the best and brightest at NASA, and to all the commercial and international partners, we have an extraordinary responsibility--but the clock is running. The journey is never easy, but it is time to inspire the world once again to achieve the near-impossible--to undertake and accomplish big, bold endeavors in space...and when we do, we will make life better here at home and challenge the next generation to go even further.
