@JeremiahDJohns Your graph has to be off, that has to be the month the data was reported not the month of the stats. Holiday music would not have peak impact in Jan. That aside, that interest in holiday music alone can drop new music to <10% means it's a failure of new music to sell enough.

I've written about this before, but it's remarkable how much older music is strangling new music. And the same is true in books, movies, video games. Older media is taking up a bigger and bigger share of the market every year.
